Kira Goin
California (Sr. / Butterfly/Freestyle)
Pointe-Claire, Quebec / Dawson College

Goin became the first Vulcan swimmer to post a NCAA ‘B’ time this season after touching the wall in 2 minutes, 5.10 seconds in the preliminaries of the 200 butterfly on Sunday at the seventh-annual Magnus Cup hosted by Cleveland State. She broke the 13-year old school record in the event and placed 15th in the ‘B’ Finals while in Ohio. Goin’s time in the 200 butterfly ranks 18th nationally and is the second-fastest time posted in the PSAC this season. She also cut nearly three seconds off her league-qualifying mark in the 100 butterfly and set the second-fastest time in school history in the event with a time of 56.33 seconds in the preliminaries. In relay events, Goin registered the second-fastest relay split in school history in the 400 medley relay with a time of 55.88 seconds in the 100 butterfly, as the relay recorded its top time in the event this year. She also notched the fourth-fastest relay split in the 200 medley relay at Cal U, while the team posted its top time in the event.
