9725 WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Shane Ruhnke

At the 165-pound weight class, with wrestlers ranked fourth and fifth in the nation, Ruhnke captured a 12-6 decision victory against Pitt-Johnstown's Devin Austin. The 165-pound bout was a rematch from 2017 NCAA Super Region 1 dual where Austin won 12-8 in decision. Ruhnke evened up the series matchup against Austin today at 2-2. Ruhnke had the lead throughout the whole bout and then pulled away in the final seconds with two takedowns and two near-fall points. Ruhnke triumphed in a 23-8 technical fall over No. 7 Damon Greenwald of Seton Hill in the 174-pound weight class. Ruhnke powered out the gate in the first period, leading 15-6. At the beginning of the second period, Ruhnke scored an escape, a takedown and four near-fall points. That put Ruhnke up 21-7 going into the third period. Ruhnke finished Greenwald with an early takedown in the third, clinching the victory. Ruhnke pushed the Marauders closer to the Griffins, trailing by 10.
  
9728 MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Willliams set career-highs in both points (22) and rebounds (17) in 25 minutes of game action while helping ESU to a dominant 109-85 victory at Felician last Tuesday. Williams became the first Warrior to record 20+ points and 15+ rebounds in a game since February 2017. Eight of his 17 rebounds came on the offensive end, as ESU finished the contest with a 55-35 advantage on the glass.
 
9730 MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Dom Sleva

Sleva averaged a double-double in two games this week despite averaging just 22 minutes per game. In a 17-point win over Wilmington, Sleva scored 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting and led all players with 13 rebounds in just 23 minutes. In the Cal game, Sleva had six of his eight rebounds in 2nd half.  In Wilmington game, his 13 rebounds were a game high and nine were in the second half. 
 
9672 MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Jacobo Diaz

Diaz averaged 19.3 points and 9.3 rebounds with a 56.8 field goal percentage to lead the third-ranked Crimson Hawks to a 3-0 week. The senior went 14-15 (93.3%) from the foul line with 10 assists and four steals. He posted a pair of double-doubles, his second and third of the season, including 11 points and 11 boards in all 40 minutes in a huge win over (2018 Elite Eight participant) Le Moyne. Diaz scored a season-high 29 points on 9-13 shooting in just 31 minutes against Westminster. He became fourth player in IUP history with 1200 points and 850 rebounds.
 
9731 MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Jared Jakubick

Jakubick came off the bench in both game. He scored 15 points on 5-7 FGs, 3-4 3FGs, 2-2 FTs with three rebounds, four assists and a steal in 102-99 triple overtime loss to Le Moyne in Friday's 1st Round of IUP Thanksgiving Classic. The freshman tied for the game-high with 15 points on 6-13 shooting and 3-6 3FGs with four rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 82-54 win over University of the Sciences in Saturday's 2nd Round of IUP Thanksgiving Classic.
   
9726 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Destiny Jefferson

Jefferson had another stellar week this week eclipsing the 20-point barrier in a pair of West Chester victories over Lincoln and Holy Family. Jefferson started her week registering a new career-high 27 points while also coming away with four rebounds and three assists to lead West Chester to the 84-80 road victory. On Sunday afternoon, Jefferson played well again pouring in 22 points while coming away with another four rebounds and three assists to help West Chester complete a massive 71-56 comeback victory over Holy Family inside Hollinger Field House.
 
9724 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Samantha Brusha

Brusha scored team-high 23 points off the bench, making 7-of-13 from the floor and going 6-for-6 from the charity strip in team's 75-65 loss to Goldey Beacom on Nov. 20. Shot 50 percent from beyond the arch and grabbed six rebounds.
   
9670 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Barrett averaged 30.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 steals per game last week, as the Vulcans earned a pair of road victories to remain unbeaten this season. She shot a combined 54.3 percent (25-of-46) from the floor while playing 75 of a possible 80 minutes last week. Barrett scored 28 points on 13-of-25 shooting and added five rebounds and four steals on Tuesday in a 75-62 victory against Central State, which advanced to the SIAC Championship last season. The Central Valley product then recorded a double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds (six offensive) in a 73-43 win at West Virginia State on Sunday. Barrett posted her third 30-point game of the season after shooting 12-of-21 from the floor and 8-of-11 from the free-throw line, plus added five steals and two blocks versus the Yellow Jackets.
 
9676 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Boston McKinney

McKinney notched a combined 14 points in two games this week. She shot a blistering .714 (5-for-7) from the field and .800 (4-of-5) from three-point range. McKinney has played at least 10 minutes in every game off the bench this season for Gannon. She scored six points with four assists in a win over Alaska Fairbanks (11/23/18).
