Gannon's Lydia Lukomski Repeats as Volleyball Champion Scholar
ERIE, Pa. --- Gannon junior Lydia Lukomski has been named the PSAC Volleyball Champion Scholar, the league announced Friday evening prior to the GU’s semifinal match in Erie, Pa.
Lukomski is volleyball athlete to repeat as the award winner since California's Abigail Freund (2012 & 13).
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.
The Portville, N.Y., native and Portville Central graduate has amassed 96 credits towards her chemistry (pre-med) degree while sporting a flawless 4.0 grade point average.
