PSAC Women's Basketball Athletes of the Week - 7 Monday, January 7, 2019 2:30 PM WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Taylor Montana Bloomsburg (Jr. / F) Berwick, Pa. / Berwick Montana led the Huskies to a perfect 2-0 week and sole possession of first place in the PSAC Eastern Division by averaging 18.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 4.0 blocks in the two victories. The junior forward scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in just 25 minutes in the Huskies' 77-58 win over Lock Haven on Wednesday night. She scored 17 points in the third quarter alone to help the Huskies build a 27-point advantage. It was her third double-double of the season. On Saturday, Montana scored nine points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and blocked a career-high six shots in the 77-71 win over Kutztown in a battle for first place. For the week, Montana was 11-of-20 (55.0%) from the field and was 15-of-18 (83.3%) from the foul line in the two wins (she entered the week as a 57.1% foul shooter). Montana is averaging 12.6 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks. She had 10 blocks through the first 12 games before recording eight total blocks during the week. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK Samantha Brusha Millersville (Fr. / G/F) Abington, Pa. / Abington Brusha scored 30 points over the course of two games on Jan. 2 and Jan. 5.She notched team highs with 17 points and six rebounds while adding three steals and shooting 5-for-7 from the floor, including 4-for-5 from beyond the arch, against Shepherd on Jan. 2. Brusha was second on the team with 13 points and totaled a career-high five steals, pulled down six rebounds and shot 5-for-9 from the floor, including 3-for-3 from beyond the arch, against West Chester on Jan. 5. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Megan Marecic Seton Hill (Gr. / G) Bethal Park, Pa. / Drexel Marecic averaged a double-double of 22 points and 13.3 rebounds in three contests. She finished with 22 points and 13 rebounds in the win over Lock Haven. The graduate student added 20 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Slippery Rock. Marecic had 24 points and a career-high 15 rebounds in the loss to Edinboro. She added seven assists, four blocks and four steals. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK Shauna Harrison California (Fr. / F) Sheffield, England / Myerscough Harrison scored a career-high 12 points against Edinboro and averaged 12.0 minutes off the bench in two divisional games last week. On Wednesday, she scored 12 points on five-of-six shooting with two-of-three from beyond the arc in a 99-92 loss at defending-PSAC Champion Edinboro. Harrison was forced to play 11 minutes in the contest due to multiple players in foul trouble and provided key points with senior Seairra Barrett being limited to a dozen points below her season average. The 5-foot-11 freshman later played 13 minutes off the bench in a 69-55 victory at Gannon.
