PSAC Football Athletes of the Week - 7 Monday, October 21, 2019 10:30 AM FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Tyson Bagent Shepherd (So. / QB) Martinsburg, W. Va. / Martinsburg Bagent completed 21-of-32 passes for 413 yards and three touchdowns to lead Shepherd to an upset win over No. 12 West Chester. His longest pass of the day was 70 yards while the Rams knocked off then-undefeated West Chester in the NCAA DII National Showcase. FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Alex Findura Bloomsburg (Jr. / DE) Stockbridge, Ga. / Woodland Findura was all over the field on Saturday as he helped the Huskies snap a four-game losing streak with a 22-17 victory at East Stroudsburg. The junior defensive lineman totaled five tackles while posting 2.5 tackles for a loss and 2.5 sacks on the afternoon. His sack total was a single-game career-high while his 2.5 tackles for a loss was half a TFL shy of his career best. Findura also added a safety - Bloomsburg's first safety since November 7, 2005 in a 52-39 loss against East Stroudsburg in the second round of the NCAA playoffs. The safety extended Bloomsburg's lead to 15-10 with 10:24 left in the fourth quarter. FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Chris Monaco Bloomsburg (So. / DB/KR) Pocono Pines, Pa. / Pocono Mountain West Monaco returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown with 10:09 left in the fourth quarter to extend Bloomsburg's lead to 22-10. The Huskies would hang on for a 22-17 win at East Stroudsburg on Saturday afternoon to snap a four-game losing skid. Following a safety, Monaco initially muffed the kickoff and had to retrieve the ball at the Huskies' 13. Unfazed by the bobble, Monaco turned up field went untouched for his first career kickoff return for a score. Monaco finished the day with two kickoff returns for 102 yards and the touchdown and also added three tackles and a pass breakup as the Huskies' starting left corner. FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Noah Mitchell Cal U (So. / QB) Euclid, Ohio / Euclid Mitchell accounted for a career-high five touchdowns (one rushing) on Saturday, as the Vulcans rolled to a 54-14 victory at Gannon in PSAC West play. He matched his career high of four touchdowns passes for the third time this season and finished with 295 passing yards on 20-of-35 attempts despite not playing in the fourth quarter. Mitchell also registered his first rushing touchdown of the season late in the third quarter on Saturday. The Ohio native became the first Cal U quarterback to throw for at least four touchdowns and rush for at least one touchdown in a game since Joe Ruggiero in the 2004 season-opener. FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Fardan Allen Seton Hill (Sr. / DB) Rochester, N.Y. / Rush Henrietta Allen led the Seton Hill defense as they posted their second consecutive win. He had 12 tackles, two interceptions and a forced fumble. One interception ended a Laker drive and kept the Griffins in front 23-20 late in the contest. The forced fumble ended the last Laker drive to preserve the 10-point win. FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Hunter Miller Seton Hill (So. / K) New Tripoli, Pa. / Northwestern Miller was 3-3 in field goals and 3-3 in extra points in the Griffins 30-20 win over Mercyhurst. He kicked field goals of 21, 36 and 22 yards.
