9330 WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Parsons competed at the GVSU Big Meet on Friday and Saturday. On Saturday, the sophomore competed against 77 runners from Division I, II, and III institutions the 3,000-meter run. She won the event with a provisional time of 9:53.06. As of Saturday, her time ranks 23rd in Division II. On Friday, Parsons broke her own school record in the one-mile run, finishing in third place at 4:48.51. Her provisional time ranks fourth in the country. She was also one of 53 participants in the run. Her time bested her school-record time set last season's GVSU Big Meet by 6.19. 
   
9772 WOMEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Sunflower Greene
Millersville (Sr. / Throws)
Lancaster, Pa. / Conestoga Valley)


Greene hit a season and PSAC-best 52-6 at the Fastrack National, competing against a select field in the "invitational" flight. She was collegiate finisher in the field. She won the weight throw against the "invitational" field, besting five Division I finishers in the top six.
 
9867 MEN'S INDOOR TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Means broke his own school record and improved his NCAA provisional time in the 200-meter dash on Friday at the Fastrack National Invitational. He won the championships session of the event with a time of 21.49 seconds, which was nearly five-tenths of a second faster than the rest of the field. Means broke his own school record in the 200 meters by one-hundredth of a second and now boasts the fastest time in the PSAC in the event by nearly three-tenths of a second. Additionally, the Gateway product placed third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.89 seconds behind only sprinters from Villanova and La Salle, both NCAA Division I programs.
   
9910 MEN'S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Shamar Jenkins

Jenkins impressed once again in the triple jump, winning the competition at the VMI Winter Relays on a top mark of 48 feet, 2 ¾ inches for another NCAA provisional qualifier. Jenkins won the competition on his first jump, and proceeded to post four more 14-meter jumps after his debut. His mark is now the conference leader and marks a five-inch season best. The mark is tied for 21st in Division II. On Saturday, Jenkins had a long jump of 21 feet, 2 ¾ inches.
 
9909 WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

St. Clair had a solid weekend at the NYU Invitational as she hit a pair of PSAC Qualifying standards in both the 200-free and 500-free while also registering a victory and a second-place finish along the way. On Friday night, St. Clair kicked off her solid weekend with a second-place finish in the 500-free with a time of 5:08.96, which also served as a PSAC Qualifier for the freshman. St. Clair followed this up on Saturday evening with a victory in the 200-free with a time 1:55.03, which was a second PSAC Qualifying standard.
 
9741 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

In SU's lone game of the week, the Raiders picked up an 88-63 road win at ESU in which Jones scored a game-high 34 points. The nation's second-leading scorer, Jones finished with 34 points on 9-of-16 shooting and 15-of-20 at the free-throw line, marking the ninth time this season she has made double-digit free throws in a game. She scored 21 of her 34 points in the second half. It was her ninth 30-point game of the season (14th of career), and the 19th time in 23 games this season she has exceeded 20 points.
 
9739 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

In a 25-point road win at ESU, freshman Green scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half - including 12 in the third quarter - finishing the game 8-of-12 from the field to complement 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Green achieved her sixth double-double of the year and reached double digits in points for the 14th time.
   
9903 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

McGrath turned in a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds with four assists and one steal in 73-68 win at Edinboro on Wednesday. The juniore foloowed up with a game-high 25 points (11-17 FGs), including 16 points in first half, six rebounds, four assists and a block in 63-51 win at Clarion on Saturday.
 
9705 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Obenrader averaged 10.5 PPG this week off the bench for Gannon. The freshman went 9-of-16 (56.2%) from the floor this week in games against Seton Hill (2/6/19) and IUP (2/9/19). She pulled down a combined 12 rebounds this week, including five offensive rebounds against SHU. Obenrader averaged 20 minutes off the bench this week. 
 
 
9900 WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Chad Haegele

Haegele pushed his unbeaten streak to 16 matches with a pair of pins over PSAC opponents last week. Haegele needed just 90 seconds to register his first pin of the year against Millersville's Rob Saum during Tuesday evening's 33-9 win for the 8th-ranked Golden Bears. Haegele, one of seven seniors being honored prior to Friday's 47-0 victory over East Stroudsburg, collected another fall, this time over Marquan Payne in 6:13. Haegele is ranked 12th nationally at 157 lbs. by the NWCA and hasn't lost a match since Nov. 3. He's 17-1 on the year and owns a 12-0 dual record, having earned KU 48 team points.
  
9902 MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION CO-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Cerruti was sensational last week in two Bald Eagle victories, which clinched a playoff berth for LHU. On Wednesday, Cerruti recorded another double-double in the win over Mansfield on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Trailing by two with 11 seconds to go, Cerruti got the assist on the game-tying bucket. Then on a missed free throw, Cerruti collected a pass and knocked home a buzzer beating three-pointer for the win. Cerruti would finish with three assists and two steals on the night. In the playoff-clinching win over Bloomsburg, Cerruti poured in 30 points in the 78-75 win. Cerruti would finish 10-19 from the field including 3-6 from beyond the arc and a perfect 7-7 from the free throw line. During a critical Lock Haven run in the second half Cerruti would score 24 of his 30 points. With six seconds to go in the game, Cerruti would lock down Bloomsburg and force a game winning turnover.
 
9728 MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION CO-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Williams recorded a pair of 20+ point games during two PSAC East victories for the Warriors. The senior picked up his team-leading 10th double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds in a 91-87 victory over Shippensburg on Wednesday. He shot 7 for 8 from the field with 16 points in the second half of that win, including the go-ahead layup with 1:59 remaining in regulation. He is only the third Warrior to tally 10 or more double-doubles in a season over the past 16 years. Williams added 21 points (9-11 FG) and seven rebounds in a 93-63 win over Mansfield on Saturday, helping ESU increase its winning streak to four games. He totaled seven steals and five blocks across the two games.
   
9673 MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Smith averaged a team-high 22.5 ppg while shooting 77.3% (17 for 22) from the field during a pair of PSAC East victories for the Warriors. The freshman score a season-high 28 points to go along with eight rebounds in a 91-87 win over Shippensburg on Wednesday, as ESU moved past the Raiders for second place in the East standings. He hit 9 of 12 attempts from both the field and the free throw line. Smith totaled 18 points (5-6 FG, 7-10 FT) in the second half, and made five of his free throws in the final two minutes to help secure the victory. Smith followed that performance with 17 points and five rebounds in a 93-63 win over Mansfield on Saturday. He hit his first eight field goal attempts before ultimately finishing 8 for 10 on the afternoon.
 
9901 MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Jaryn Simpson

Simpson helped Edinboro secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season at Cal and vs. Pitt-Johnstown. The sophomore scored in double figures for the eighth consecutive game over the Vulcans with 13 points, including four 3-pointers. Simpson was limited to just five minutes in the second half, but hit a key free throw with 19 seconds remaining that gave Edinboro a four-point lead at 75-71. Against the Mountain Cats, the guard posted his first career triple-double. He led all players with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists. Simpsons’ triple-double is the first at Edinboro since 2008. In addition, he entered the weekend as one of 13 Division II players with a triple-double this year, including the only sophomore and player in the PSAC on the list. 
 
9899 MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Turner Kurt

Kurt helped Edinboro secure back-to-back wins for the first time this season at Cal and against Pitt-Johnstown. The freshman scored 17 points in each game, shooting a combined 13-of-24 from the floor, including 7-of-14 on 3-pointers. This is the second time this season that the freshman has scored double digits in back-to-back contests. Against the Vulcans, Kurt played an key part in Edinboro securing the road upset. He scored 13 of his points in the second half, shooting 5-of-7 from the floor, including 3-of-5 from behind the arc. In addition, he grabbed four rebounds and had two assists. In Edinboro's victory over the Mountain Cats, Kurt scored 12 points in the opening half on 5-of-8 shooting, along with two 3-pointers.
