Shippensburg Claims Ninth Consecutive PSAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Title

FINAL RESULTS
EDINBORO, Pa. --- The Shippensburg Raiders won their ninth consecutive Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Championship Saturday at the Mike S. Zafiroviski Sports and Recreation Dome in Edinboro, Pa.
The championship was originally scheduled to span over two days, however, due to potential extreme weather, it was condensed into one day.
All the running events were timed finals except for the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles.
Shippensburg claimed its 13th title overall after amassing 134 points while East Stroudsburg was second with 98 points.
Shippensburg’s quartet of Charles Bowman, Aaron Arp, Austin Padmore and Johnanthan Stiles set a meet and facility record in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:14.90.
Bowman was named the overall MVP.
Raider senior Ori Rinaman and Bowman posted NCAA DII provisional times in the 60-meter hurdles while finishing first and second, respectively. Rinaman turned in a time of 8.13 seconds while Bowman needed 8.20.
Shippensburg freshman Shamar Jenkins enjoyed an impressive performance in the high jump when he cleared 6.92 meters on his first attempt while claiming the title. Jenkins earned the Most Outstanding Field honor while he won the triple jump with a leap of 14.99 meters.
California senior Jae’Len Means impressed with a pair of victories and was named the Most Outstanding Runner. He posted a time of 6.86 seconds and a provisional time in the 60-meter dash. Later, Means accomplished the same feat in the 200-meter dash in 21.49.
IUP junior Christian Jones won the high jump with a height of 2.05 meters while his teammate Derek Noll claimed the gold in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.65.
Noll, Justin Jones, Michael Clark and Dylan Ruefle paced all participants in the 4x800 relay with a time of 7:51.75.
West Chester sophomore Ralph Casper claimed the crown in the shot put with a heave of 17.75 meters while senior Golden Ram Josh Coakley won the 5K with a time of 15:03.91.
The NCAA DII Indoor Track and Field Championships will take place March 8-9 in Pittsburg, Kansas.
