EDINBORO, Pa. --- Slippery Rock junior Hannah Kenawell was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Champion Scholar, the league office announced Saturday afternoon at the PSAC Indoor Track and Field Championships in Erie, Pa.

Kenawell is the second The Rock representative to earn the award to earn the award and first since 2014 (Kara Styles).

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.

The McDonald, Pa., native and South Fayette graduate has amassed 106 credits towards her exercise science major while boasting a flawless 4.0 GPA.
