PSAC Women's Basketball Athletes of the Week - 11 Monday, February 4, 2019 2:30 PM WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Taylor Montana Bloomsburg (Jr. / F) Berwick, Pa. / Berwick Montana had another big week as she helped the Huskies to a pair of wins which kept Bloomsburg in sole possession of first place in the PSAC Eastern Division. On Wednesday, Montana posted her fourth double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 rebounds in a victory at Shippensburg and then added 15 points and nine rebounds in a home win over West Chester. She averaged 16 points and 9.5 rebounds while shooting 13-of-26 (50%) from the field and 6-of-6 (100%) from the foul line. She added three blocks and three steals in the two games. For the year, Montana is posting 13.1 points and 7.7 rebounds for the first-place Huskies. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK Zhane Snow West Chester (Fr. / G) Wilmington, Del. / Concord Snow had a solid performance against Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon as she finished with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field including a perfect 4-of-4 from beyond the arc. Snow ended with five rebounds including three defensive boards. The freshman was very efficient in this contest as she compiled this impressive stat line in just 22 minutes of action. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Michaela Barnes Edinboro (Jr. / G) Chagrin Falls, Ohio / Kenston Barnes paced the Fighting Scots to wins over Salem and Mercyhurst last week. The junior was Edinboro's top scorer in both contests. She scored a combined 67 points on 21-of-33 shooting, including 3-of-4 3-pointers and 22-of-24 free throws. She also totaled nine rebounds in both contests. In the win against the Lakers, the guard scored her 1,000th career point on a layup late in the second quarter. She entered the contest just 12 points shy of the mark with 988. Following Saturday's contest against the Tigers, Barnes ranks 30th all-time with 1,055 points. WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK Brionna Allen California (Fr. / F) PIttsburgh, Pa. / Bishop Canevin Allen averaged 7.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last week, as the Vulcans split a pair of games in PSAC West play. She shot 54.5 percent from the floor while playing 21.5 minutes per game off the bench. Allen scored eight points on four-of-nine shooting in 18 minutes on Wednesday during a 91-62 victory over Clarion. The Pittsburgh native then tallied six points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals while playing 25 minutes in a 72-61 loss at Slippery Rock on Saturday.
