10156 LACROSSE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Mitarotonda recorded 10 goals and five assists during a 1-1 week for the seventh-ranked Warriors. The sophomore totaled a career-high nine points (5 G, 4 A) in a 16-5 win at Georgian Court to open up the season ... became just the fifth Warrior player in the last 15 seasons to have a nine-point game. She added five more goals and an assist in a tight 14-10 loss to No. 2 Adelphi on Sunday, as ESU battled throughout on the road against a Panther squad which has won three of the last five DII championships. Mitarotonda also won a team-high 10 draw controls across the two contests.

Kotula tossed a complete game 2-hitter as she helped IUP to a 13-1 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in the 2019 season opener. She struck out a career-high six batters in the full seven innings, adding a 2-run double at the plate in the runaway victory. It was her first complete game in just her second career collegiate start in the circle.
 
10147 SOFTBALL CENTRAL DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Smith went 2-4 at the plate with three RBIs to lead Mansfield to a season-opening win over Michigan-Dearborn on Sunday.
   
10148 SOFTBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Maseth had a great week as she went 9-for-15 this week with on double two triples, eight runs scored and eight RBI to help West Chester go 4-0 on the weekend to improve to 4-5 overall. Against Fairmont State, Maseth was 3-for-8 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and an RBI. Maseth was even better on Saturday afternoon as she went 6-for-7 with a triple, six runs scored and an impressive seven RBI to help West Chester cruise past Glenville State on Saturday. For the year, Maseth is now batting .354 with nine runs scored, nine RBI, 11 hits, and a pair of walks as the team prepares for its annual Spring Break trip to the Sunshine State.

Gearhart earned wins against Fairmont State and Glenville State. The junior accumulated eight strikeouts while scattering six hits over 13 innings of work. Gearhart allowed one earned run in a complete game effort against Fairmont State. Against Glenville State, she allowed an unearned run and two hits in six innings of work. 
   
10143 SOFTBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Toal has had a great start to her freshman season. In her first four games, she was 7-15 (.467) with three doubles, two home runs and five RBI. The freshman scored five runs. 
 
10145 SOFTBALL WESTERN DIVISION PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Greco notched two wins while striking out 15 in 14.2 innings in three appearances. The sophomore paced the Griffins to an 8-0 win against Wheeling Jesuit after twirling a complete game shutout with 11 K's. She allowed three hits in the effort. Greco followed up with a second win against WJU after scattering a pair of hits in 1.2 innings of work. 
 
10151 BASEBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Etters, Pa. / Red Land


Snyder led Millersville to three wins by going 6-for-14 with a .714 slugging and .529 OBP. Snyder also walked three times. He led the team with nine runs scored and had six RBIs. He had two hits in all three wins.
 
10152 BASEBALL EASTERN DIVISION PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Fiala recorded 11 strikeouts and improved to 2-0 in a 9-1 win for the Warriors against American International on Thursday. He retired 12 consecutive batters after issuing a walk to start the top of the first inning and took a no-hitter into the top of the fifth inning. He scattered two hits and allowed one unearned run against the Yellow Jackets. 
 
10149 BASEBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Jezioro led Slippery Rock to a doubleheader split at West Virginia State last week. Over two games, Jezioro hit .625 (5-for-8) with three runs scored, two RBI, one double, a home run and one walk. After going 3-for-4 with one run scored and a double in a game-one loss, Jezioro went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI and one home run in a 9-2 victory.

Walker tossed a complete game shutout against Charleston (WV). The junior scattered two hits while striking out seven in the effort. 
 
9858 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Derr averaged 19.5 points per game in a 2-0 week last week. She scored a game-high 24 points, going 7-for-11 from the field overall, 4-for-6 from three and 6-of-6 at the free-throw line, while also adding seven rebounds in a win at East Stroudsburg. Derr then tallied 15 points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in a victory over Lock Haven to lead Kutztown to a share of the PSAC East title.
 
10138 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Pettis averaged 11.0 and 9.0 rebounds on the week for the Raiders Against West Chester, Pettis scored 18 points, one short of her career high, on 7-of-9 shooting, to go along with nine rebounds (six offensive). She scored four points and had nine rebounds, and equaled a career high with three blocks at Bloomsburg.
   
9796 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Marecic led the Griffins to a pair of wins over top 20 teams this past week. She scored a career-high 30 points and added 14 rebounds in the win over No. 17 Cal. The graduate student poured in 22 points and 13 rebounds in the upset win over No. 8 IUP. She averaged 25.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in the pair of games. She also added five assists, four steals and a block.
 
9705 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Obenrader averaged 11 points and 8.5 rebounds on 47.3% shooting from the floor. The freshman scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds in a 50-48 road win over Clarion (2/17/19) and followed it up with a team-high 13 points and nine rebounds on Saturday afternoon against Slippery Rock (3/2/19). She has snagged over 200 rebounds this season.
 
9797 MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

In a 2-0 week for the Raiders that included a home win over West Chester and a 38-point rout of Bloomsburg, Biss shot 71 percent (22-of-31) from the field, including 63.6% from three-point range (7-of-11). He averaged 28.5 points, 5.0 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game while shooting 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Against West Chester, Biss led all scorers with a career-high 32 points, shooting 11-of-17 from the field including 4-of-6 from three-point range and 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Biss added six assists and four rebounds. Eighteen of Biss's 32 points came in the second half. In just 28 minutes at Bloomsburg, scored 21 of his game-high 25 points in the first half, finishing 11-of-14 from the field and 3-of-5 from three-point range. Biss also had four assists and just one turnover. Biss has now scored 22 or more points in six straight games.
   
9673 MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Smith averaged 26.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, helping ESU post a pair of victories and clinch its fifth PSAC East regular season title in the past seven seasons. The freshman poured in 31 points, the most by any Warrior this season, in Wednesday's 112-92 victory over Kutztown. He added eight rebounds, three steals (matching a season-high) and two blocks. Smith totaled 21 points, including 15 after the intermission, and eight rebounds in Saturday's 85-77 comeback win at Millersville, as the Warriors rallied from a 10-point deficit late in the first half. He became just the fourth ESU freshman to score 400 points in his debut season (currently at 401).
  
9740 MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Wise matched a career-high with 31 points on 11-16 shooting, including 3-3 from 3-point range. The junior was 6-8 from free-throw line and had team-high eight rebounds with two assists and a steal in a win against Mercyhurst.
 
 
9787 MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Collin MacAdams

MacAdams averaged a double-double with 25.5 points and 10.0 rebounds per game, as the Vulcans closed the regular season against a pair of divisional opponents. He shot 67.7 percent (21-of-31) from the floor while playing 36.0 minutes in a pair of road games. The Central Bucks West product recorded 22 points on 9-of-13 attempts and added eight rebounds in an 89-76 victory at Seton Hill on Wednesday night. MacAdams then posted his sixth double-double of the season after tying his career high of 29 of points on 12-of-18 shooting at Clarion on Saturday afternoon. He totaled 12 rebounds (four offensive) while playing all 40 minutes against the Golden Eagles.
