PSAC Football Athletes of the Week - 3 Monday, September 23, 2019 10:30 AM FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE CO-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Tyson Bagent Shepherd (So. / QB) Martinsburg, W. Va. / Martinsburg Bagent completed 30-of-44 for 394 yards and five touchdowns in Shepherd's win over Clarion. FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE CO-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Collin DiGalbo Kutztown (Sr. / QB) Secane, Pa. / Monsignor Bonner DiGalbo surpassed 7,000 career passing yards and was part of all five touchdowns in the Golden Bears' 35-10 victory over Gannon on Saturday. DiGalbo completed 25-of-32 passes for 316 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. He also ran for 98 yards on 16 carries, scoring three times. The senior tied his own program single-game record for rushing TDs by a quarterback. DiGalbo is just the third KU quarterback to throw for 7,000 yards or more all-time (7,020). He also moved into third in program history in career completions (561) during Saturday's win. The Secane, Pa., native ranks in the top five nationally in rushing touchdowns (six), total points responsible for (96) and per game (32.0), passing touchdowns (10), scoring (12.0) and total offense (377.0 ypg). FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Nick Vasger Kutztown (Jr. / DE) Hatfield, Pa. / North Penn Vasger recorded 1.5 sacks, 3.0 tackles for loss and recovered a fumble during the Golden Bears' 35-10 win over Gannon on Saturday. Vasger was disruptive to the Golden Knights offensive game plan all afternoon, as were his KU teammates. He finished with four tackles on the day and his three tackles for loss cost Gannon 14 yards. Vasger, a native of Hatfield, Pa., teamed up with Eric Miller to bring down Gannon QB Jimmy Keefe in the backfield late in the first quarter. Midway through the fourth he dropped Keefe for an eight yard loss on a solo sack. Vasger also recovered a fumble at Gannon's 10 on the Knights' first possession of the second half, which was set up by a Togba Porte II sack and forced fumble --one of six sacks for the KU defense on the day. The Golden Bears scored off the turnover to go up 28-3. FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK George Lambritsios West Chester (Jr. / P) Broomall, Pa. / Marple Newtown Lambritsios averaged 49.8 yards per punt on four punts, including a 63-yarder that was downed inside the 1-yard line and led to a safety on the very first offensive play by Seton Hill. Three of his four punts went over 50 yards and each of those were inside the 20-yard line. Following his four punts, SHU's starting drives were at the 14-, 1-, 15- and 2-yard lines. None of those four drives got further than the SHU 42-yard line and two of them didn't even get outside the Griffins' own 10-yard line. FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION OFFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Roland Rivers III Slippery Rock (Sr. / QB) Ellenwood, Ga. / Martin Luther King Rivers III completed 21-of-26 passes for 339 yards with six touchdowns and no interceptions in limited work in a 49-0 win over Millersville. He played just one series of the second half. Rivers III also rushed for 37 yards to account for 376 yards of total offense. Through three weeks, Rivers is completing 76.7 percent of his passes for 1,113 yards with 16 touchdowns and no INT. FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Jimmy Pierce Cal U (Jr. / DB) Uniontown, Pa. / Laruel Highlands Pierce posted his second career interception return for a touchdown on Saturday in a 58-7 win against Shippensburg. He finished with four tackles (three solo), 1.0 TFL and one quarterback hurry in the contest. Late in the second quarter, Pierce recorded his first interception of the year and returned the turnover 39 yards to stretch the lead to 28-0 with 4:23 left before halftime. Cal U forced four turnovers and tallied five sacks in the victory, while allowing the only score for Shippensburg with 6:01 remaining in the fourth quarter. FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Dillon Sarka IUP (Sr. / PK) Lebanon, Ohio / Waynesburg Sarka broke the IUP single game record with 11 extra points in the Crimson Hawks 77-14 win over Lock Haven. The 11 PATs are tied for the most of any kicker in any NCAA division this season.
