The redshirt junior from Northumberland, Pennsylvania, leads NCAA Division II with 8.3 solo tackles per game, ranks fifth in the nation in total tackles with 12.3 per game and seventh in interceptions per game (0.8). He leads the PSAC in all three categories. His interception of Bagent late in the fourth quarter set up Collin DiGalbo's touchdown pass to Mason McElroy that gave KU a 27-24 lead with 1:11 left. FOOTBALL EASTERN DIVISION SPECIAL TEAMS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Andrew Chegia West Chester (Jr. / PK) Kennett Square, Pa. / Unionville Chegia accumulated 12 points in the Golden Rams 48-7 win against Millersville. It was the biggest game by an IUP receiver since Walt Pegues had 14 catches for 233 yards at Slippery Rock in 2015. The sophomore scored three straight touchdowns in the second and third quarters as the Crimson Hawks erased a Mercyhurst second quarter lead. Those three scores helped turn the tide as IUP scored 35 unanswered points. It was the most touchdowns by an IUP player since Samir Bullock rushed for 6 scores against Seton Hill in 2017. The 4 total touchdowns is the most by an opposing player against Mercyhurst since ESU's Robert Healy rushed for 4 scores in 2016. FOOTBALL WESTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Jayden Ashby Gannon (Fr. / DB) Kensington, Md. / The Avalon School Ashby finished with six tackles and a pair of interceptions, but the true freshman took over during a sequence in the second half. That return ended with a fumble that Clarion hopped on to get the ball back, but Ashby nearly picked off another one on an almost identical play, then broke up the final two attempts for the guests.
