PSAC Men's Basketball Athletes of the Week - 11 Monday, January 27, 2020 2:30 PM MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Jake Biss Shippensburg (Jr. / G) Latrobe, Pa. / Greater Latrobe Biss averaged 22.5 PPG, 3.5 RPG, 4.0 APG and 2.0 SPG as the Raiders continued their win streak with wins over Kutztown and Lock Haven. He shot 48.6% from the field, including 50% (7-14) from three-point range. In the win over KU, Biss led all players with 27 points, finishing 10-of-19 from the field including 5-of-7 from three-point range. Biss tied a career high with his five three-pointers, and achieved his fifth 20-point game of the season. He also had three assists and two steals on the night. In the win over LHU, Biss had 18 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals. He scored SU's first nine points in the second half, going 4-of-5 from the field in the first four minutes of the frame. MEN'S BASKETBALL EASTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Ryan Davis Millersville (Fr. / F) Woodbine, Md. / Glenelg Davis played a key role in Millersville’s two road victories, not only be scoring 18.5 points per game, but also on the defensive end. He totaled three steals, two blocks and nine defensive rebounds in the two games. Against Mansfield, he keyed a 20-0 run in the second half by blocking two shots and recording two steals in a 13-minute stretch. Against Lock Haven, he recorded a career-high eight rebounds. MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Malik Miller IUP (Sr. / G) Farrell, Pa. / Farrell Miller averaged 24.5 points and 4.5 assists and shot 87.5 percent from the foul line to lead the 7th-ranked Crimson Hawks to wins over Pitt-Johnstown and Clarion last week. Miller shot 48.3 percent from the floor and made seven 3-pointers with 10 rebounds and three blocks. He posted a career-high 27 points on the strength of a 12-13 performance from the foul line as IUP outlasted and upset-minded Clarion 82-71 Saturday. Miller opened the week with his third straight 22-point performance, adding six rebounds and six assists as the Crimson Hawks defeated Pitt-Johnstown 100-93 on the road in a battle between the top two teams in the PSAC West Wednesday night. He shot 8-15 from the floor with four 3-pointers and had two blocks. MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE CO-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK Jermaine Hall, Jr. Cal U (So. / G/F) Baltimore, Md. / Severn School Hall tallied 17 rebounds (16 defensive) last week, as the Vulcans claimed a pair of victories in PSAC West play. He collected seven rebounds and scored a season-high 15 points in 28 minutes in a 68-64 win at Gannon on Wednesday night. The Maryland native then recorded a game-high 10 rebounds with seven points and three assists in 33 minutes in a 69-51 victory over Mercyhurst. Cal U held the Lakers to a season-low .273 field-goal percentage, including just 1-of-24 (4.2 percent) from beyond the arc. MEN'S BASKETBALL WESTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE CO-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK John Paul Kromka Pitt-Johnstown (So. / F) Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway Kromka averaged six defensive rebounds while swatting six shots in a pair of contests. The sophomore stuffed a shots, notched a steal and seven defensive boards in a close loss to No. 7 IUP. Kromka helped Pitt-Johnstown get back in the win column after blocking four shots and grabbing nine defensive boards in a win against Seton Hill.
