Ryan Peters of Mercyhurst earns PSAC Men’s Golf Scholar Athlete Award

HERSHEY, Pa. --- Mercyhurst University junior Ryan Peters has been named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s Men’s Golf Champion Scholar, the league office announced Saturday at the 2021 PSAC Men’s Golf Championship in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
 
Peters repeats as the champion scholar for men's golf for Mercyhurst after earning the honor for the 2020-21 campaign. 

The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade-point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's 23 team championship finals. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 89 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.
 
The Saegertown, Pennsylvania native recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA while majoring in Finance/Accounting at Mercyhurst.
