PSAC BASEBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK - 4
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference office announced this week’s baseball athletes of the week. From the East, Shepherd University’s Caleb Walls and Shippensburg University’s Kiernan Higgins were honored, while in the West, Seton Hill University’s Tommy Pellis and Gannon University’s Deven Judy were selected.
Baseball Eastern Division Athlete of the Week
Caleb Walls – Shepherd

Caleb Walls led Shepherd to an undefeated 4-0 week as he hit .533 (8-for-15) driving in 12 runs and scoring eight. He belted three home runs and three doubles and tallied at least one hit in each of his four contests played. In his last three games against Kutztown, Walls had four RBI’s apiece including a multi-home run game in game three of the series. Walls finished with a 1.333 slugging percentage and a.588 on-base percentage.

Kiernan Higgins – Shippensburg

Higgins threw a one-hit shutout in a 10-0 road win at Lock Haven. His performance was nearly one for the record books, as he took a no-hitter into the seventh inning, but a one-out single by Joey Lowen ended the bid. Higgins yielded the lone single and four walks in the complete-game shutout, striking out 10 in the win. It is his second straight double-digit strikeout performance.

Tommy Pellis – Seton Hill

Tommy Pellis led the Griffins to a four-game sweep of Indiana (Pa.) by hitting .700 (7-for-10). He had a double, triple and homer while driving in six and scoring eight runs. Pellis had a pair of 3-for-3 games in the four-game set including finishing a double short of the cycle in game one and driving in a trio of runs. He was also 3-for-3 in game three of the series, driving in a pair of runs and stealing a base. He finished the week with a .700/1.300/.769 slash line.

Deven Judy – Gannon

Deven Judy Helped Gannon to a 3-0 upset win over No. 23 Mercyhurst hurling his first complete game of the season going all 7.0 innings with a season-high 12 strikeouts and only allowing three hits. He held opposing batters to a .125 batting average and posted his fifth career double-digit strikeout performance. With the 12k game, he became 1-of-3 players in program history to surpass the 200-strikeout mark with 201 and increased his career win total to 13, which ties him for fifth on the Gannon all-time list. It marked his fourth career shutout performance, which ranks second on the Gannon all-time list.
