Edinboro defeats Mercyhurst for 2021 PSAC Men’s Tennis Title

ERIE, Pa. --- The Edinboro University Fighting Scots defeated the Mercyhurst University Lakers Friday from the Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, Pennsylvania. Edinboro came into the final match as the No. 2 seed while Mercyhurst was the No. 1 seed. The final score of the match was 4-2 in favor of Edinboro.
For the Fighting Scots, they claim their first PSAC Men’s Tennis championship since 2010. Edinboro avenged its regular season loss to the Lakers in the win.
In the match, Mercyhurst claimed the doubles point winning 1, 2, and 3 over Edinboro to start the day.
However, Edinboro bounced back in the singles matches to claim its win. Mercyhurst snagged point in one singles, but EU grabbed the 2 singles point along with the 3 and 6 singles points to earn the championship.
