PSAC Women’s Basketball Athletes of the Week – 10

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference office announced this week’s women’s basketball athletes of the week. From the PSAC East, Leah Johnson of West Chester University was named Athlete of the Week and Casey Remolde of Kutztown University earned the defensive honor. In the PSAC West, Makalyn Clapper of the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown and Rajah Fink of Indiana University of Pennsylvania were named co-Athletes of the Week and Dejah Terrell of California University of Pennsylvania was the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Leah Johnson registered two double-doubles in a 2-1 week for West Chester. She started off the week with 21 points, 10 total rebounds, and five assists in the win over East Stroudsburg. Against Lock Haven, Johnson matched her career high with 27 points while grabbing 13 rebounds and adding five assists. She tallied 24 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in the game at Mansfield. Johnson recorded 11 steals and two blocked shots across three games played.

Casey Remolde helped Kutztown to a PSAC East victory over Mansfield. She blocked three shots, grabbed four steals, scored eight points, and pulled in 10 rebounds for the Golden Bears. Remolde ranks sixth among NCAA DII Women’s Basketball players with 51 blocks this season.

Makalyn Clapper led Pitt-Johnstown to wins over two nationally ranked opponents this week. Against no. 21 IUP, she posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds in addition to five steals. In the win over no. 14 Gannon, Clapper tallied 17 points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

Rajah Fink posted two double-doubles for IUP this week. She posted 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and a block at Pitt-Johnstown. Against Edinboro, she tied a career-high with 20 points and set a career high with 11 rebounds in addition to four assists, three blocks, and a steal. In the win over Mercyhurst, she bested her career high and recorded 21 points along with 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a blocked shot.

Dejah Terrell helped Cal U to a 2-1 week in PSAC West play. Across three games, she blocked seven shots and grabbed seven steals. Against Gannon, she recorded a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds, the most rebounds for a Cal U player since the 2015-16 season. In the win over Seton Hill, Terrell scored 12 points, dished out two assists, and pulled in six rebounds. She scored her 1,000th career point during a 15 point, eight rebound performance at Slippery Rock.
