LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced the final round of men’s soccer athletes of the week. From the West, Fletcher Amos of Seton Hill University received the offensive award, while Jonathan Gomes of Mercyhurst University received the defensive title. From the East, Samuel Hershey of Lock Haven University was named Athlete of the Week, while Helgi Hermannsson of East Stroudsburg University was named Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Fletcher Amos scored four goals as the Griffins went 2-0 to earn a PSAC West playoff spot. He scored two goals, including the game-winning goal, in each of the two matches this week. Amos had six total shots with five being on goal during the week. He ends the week as the third-leading scorer in the conference with .786 goal per game.

Jonathan Gomes did not allow a goal in two games on the week for the Lakers. He recorded two saves in two games with both coming against Gannon on Wednesday. The two wins marked his 14th and 15th shutouts of the season, leaving him with a .688 shutouts per game average.

Samuel Hershey played well in the final game of the season for the Bald Eagles as Lock Haven finished off Senior Day with a 3-0 shutout victory over Shepherd. The 2021 PSAC Eastern Division Rookie of the Year scored and assisted a goal in the performance, grabbing another three points on the season. This goal becomes his 11th of the season, locking him into third in the conference, while posting his career high in shots (8) on the game, placing half of them on goal. Hershey remains fourth in the conference for shots on goal with 29.

Helgi Hermannsson recorded shutouts against both West Chester and Shippensburg to combine for nine saves in two wins on the week. Hermannsson has recorded shutouts in five of his last six contests to lead East Stroudsburg to the No. 2 seed in the PSAC East.
