PSAC Swimming Athletes of the Week – 8

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced this week’s swimming athletes of the week. IUP picks up both awards as Paige Mikesell was chosen for the women, and Thomas McGillan was chosen for the men.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced this week’s swimming athletes of the week. IUP picks up both awards as Paige Mikesell was chosen on the women's side, and Thomas McGillan was chosen on the men's side.

Paige Mikesell was part of three pool records in IUP's PSAC dual meet win against Clarion. Mikesell was victorious in the 200 free (1:55.45) and 100 fly (58.04), in addition to being a member of the victorious 200 medley relay squad that set a pool record in 1:48.09.

Thomas McGillan logged two individual wins and a relay victory in PSAC dual meet action against Clarion on Saturday. McGillan touched the wall first in the 50 free (21.09) and the 100 free (47.16), and also competed as a member of the winning 200 medley relay team, setting a pool record in 1:34.96.
