East Stroudsburg and West Chester Set for 2022 PSAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship Game

GREENSBURG, Pa. --- East Stroudsburg and West Chester will face off Sunday with the 2022 PSAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship on the line. The Golden Rams are the defending conference champions.
East Stroudsburg defeated Mercyhurst 13-2 to advance to the final. Emily Mitarotonda, McKenna Conklin, and Sophia Graffeo each scored three goals. Kiki Fitzpatrick dished out five assists, and Mitarotonda added two more. Sarah Kaska and Meghan Nasman scored one goal apiece for Mercyhurst.
West Chester won 17-8 over Seton Hill in the first game of the day. Keri Barnett scored seven goals, Hannah Stanislawczyk scored four, and Lindsay Monigle added two goals and four assists for the Golden Rams. Grace Agnello scored twice and dished out two assists and Piper Conlan scored two goals and added an assist for Seton Hill.
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- Four teams are heading to Greensburg, Pennsylvania for the semifinals of the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Championship.
West Chester defeated Millersville 20-2 in the first quarterfinal matchup. The Golden Rams advance to play host and No. 1 PSAC West seed Seton Hill at 1 p.m. on Friday.
Mercyhurst won 8-7 over IUP in the second quarterfinal. The Lakers will face No. 1 PSAC East seed East Stroudsburg at 4 p.m. on Friday.
LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The six-team field is set for the 2022 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championships. Two quarterfinal matchups will take place on Tuesday at campus sites with the semifinal and final games taking place Friday and Sunday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Field on the Seton Hill University campus.
The East Stroudsburg Warriors are the defending Atlantic Region Women’s Lacrosse Champions. They earned the No. 1 seed with an 11-1 record in conference play. Emily Mitarotonda leads the team with 63 goals, five of which were game-winners. Kayleigh Pokrivka has caused 50 turnovers and picked up 59 ground balls this season. The Warriors were ranked No. 6 in the most recent IL Women/IWLCA Division II poll. East Stroudsburg has a first-round bye and awaits the winner of the Mercyhurst/IUP game.
West Chester is looking to defend its 2021 PSAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The Golden Rams are the No. 2 seed. Hannah Stanislawczyk has 60 goals and Keri Barnett is second on the team with 58. Lindsay Monigle’s 50 assists lead the Golden Rams. West Chester was ranked No. 4 in the most recent IL Women/IWLCA Division II poll. The Golden Rams host Millersville in the first round on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Millersville is the No. 3 seed in the East. The Marauders are making their first appearance in the PSAC tournament since the 2019 season. Gillian Zimmerman’s 58 goals are the most on the team. Grace Cobaugh has won 110 draw controls, caused 18 turnovers, and scooped up 38 ground balls. The Marauders travel to West Chester on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Seton Hill claimed the No. 1 seed in the PSAC West. Jaclyn Frank and Skylar Orlowski each have 43 goals, and Frank leads the team with 65 assists. Kamille Ward has made 100 saves this season, starting 16 of the Griffins’ 17 games. Seton Hill was ranked No. 22 in the most recent IL Women/IWLCA Division II poll. The Griffins have a first-round bye and will play the winner of the West Chester/Millersville matchup on Friday.
The Mercyhurst Lakers are the No. 2 seed with a 9-3 conference record. Maggie Newton is first on the team with 37 goals and Victoria Gottorff is second with 35. Gotorff’s 24 assists lead the Lakers. Mackenzie Murphy leads the team with 39 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers. Mercyhurst hosts IUP on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
IUP is the No. 3 seed. The Crimson Hawks are led by Leah Hunter’s 29 goals and Jordan Kulp’s 44 assists. Chantal Jimenez has won 103 draw controls to go with 14 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. IUP travels to Mercyhurst on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
