PSAC Men’s Soccer Athletes of the Week - 1

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced this week’s athletes of the week. In the PSAC West, Sean Kerrigan of Mercyhurst University was Offensive Athlete of the Week and Hossam Aly of Slippery Rock University earned defensive honors. Over in the East, Christian Bowles of Millersville University was the top offensive performer and Brayden Evans of East Stroudsburg University was the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced this week’s athletes of the week. In the PSAC West, Sean Kerrigan of Mercyhurst University was Offensive Athlete of the Week and Hossam Aly of Slippery Rock University earned defensive honors. Over in the East, Christian Bowles of Millersville University was the top offensive performer and Brayden Evans of East Stroudsburg University was the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Sean Kerrigan ended this week as the PSAC leader in goals, shots, shots on goal, and points. He made two goals and an assist against Goldey-Beacom, and scored twice more versus Georgian Court to lead Mercyhurst to a 2-0 start.

Hossam Aly helped Slippery Rock to a 1-1 record for the week with a 4-1 loss at Walsh and 2-1 victory over Findlay. In two games, he made 10 saves including eight in The Rock’s win over the Oilers. He ended the week with a 2.50 GAA and a .667 save percentage.

Christian Bowles began his Millersville soccer career with a strong three-goal performance through two games. He scored two goals in the No. 6 Marauders' victory over Seton Hill on Wednesday and followed that up with an equalizer in Saturday's home opener that allowed 'Ville to avoid a loss to the visiting Ashland Eagles. He recorded four shots on the week, three of which landed on frame.

Brayden Evans made 12 saves this week to give East Stroudsburg a 1-1 start to the season. In a win against Felician, he made seven saves on 13 shots faced while only allowing one goal. He finished the week with .857 save percentage.
