QUICK HITS, WEEK 3
WCU - In program history, West Chester has never been defeated by Gannon. Their last win over the Golden Knights took place in 2019 on the road.
GANN - With 12 through two weeks, Gannon is the current conference leader in sacks.
BLOOM - In a storied history with Edinboro, the Huskies will have the opportunity to even up a 6-7 head-to-head with the Fighting Scots.
BORO - Edinboro’s lone score was earned on a 54-yard connection between quarterback Isaac Bernard and Mike Watkins. Bernard finished the night with 338 yards, while Watkins made five grabs for 87 yards.
KUTZ - Shut out in the first game of the season, Kutztown’s offense picked up under the leadership of running back Darryl Davis-McNeil. Davis-McNeil had a big night as he ran for 99 yards to reach the 1,000-yard career mark. He also made a career-high 23 carries.
HURST - The Lakers have scored 94 points so far this season—their most points ever scored to begin a season in the first two contests. They also currently sit at the top of the conference in scoring.
ESU - Quarterback Jake Cirillo guided the comeback attempt against IUP, throwing for 300 yards for the second time in his career and leading in rushing with 69 yards. His five total touchdowns also match a career high.
SHU - In Week 2, JaiQuawn McGriff led the Griffins in scoring by running for 88 yards and a touchdown as well as catching three passes for 74 yards and the second touchdown. On defense, Jaylen McDuffie finished with 11 total tackles including three for loss.
SRU - Slippery Rock owns a 19-4-1 advantage in the all-time series that dates back to 1938. The Rock have won the last nine straight meetings in the series and 13 of the last 14 meetings. The lone Millersville win in that stretch came in 2004.
VILLE - Millersville’s linebacker corps has delivered. Garrett Cox (10.5) and Rafael Lozada (10.0) rank third and fourth in the PSAC in tackles per game. Cox’s two sacks ranks seventh, and he is third with 3 1/2 tackles for loss. On the outside, Imir Lilliston has been active, breaking up three passes, which is tied for fourth in the PSAC.
CAL - The Vulcans and Rams are meeting in the regular season for the first time since 1986. The programs have since met twice in the NCAA Playoffs (2007, 2016), both times in the regional championship.
SHEP - Shepherd previously has just one win against California (Pa.) and it was actually the most recent meeting in 2016. Shepherd won the matchup 41-30 over the Vulcans.
IUP - The Crimson Hawks won their first matchup of the year squeaking by East Stroudsburg in the final seconds of the fourth quarter with a game-winning field goal, 38-35.
SHIP - Shippensburg has had a pretty solid record against PSAC West team in recent years. Since 2015, SHIP is 14-6 against PSAC West opponents.
CLAR - This will be the 68th meeting between the Golden Eagles and the Bald Eagles, with Clarion owning a dominant 50-16-1 edge in the all-time series with Lock Haven. The two were former PSAC divisional rivals until 2012, with Lock Haven moving to the East division in the 2013 season.
LHU - Lock Haven snapped their 10-game losing streak with a victory in the season opener, defeating Post on the road by a 35-34 score. The Bald Eagles broke a 28-28 tie with 7:31 remaining in the fourth quarter when Marquon Williams took a pass from Easton Turner 52 yards to the house, giving Lock Haven the edge. Post scored to cut the lead to 35-34 but failed in their two-point conversion attempt, giving Lock Haven the win.
