QUICK HITS, WEEK 4
VILLE -  Despite the slow overall start, the Marauders’ defense continues to build on their numbers. Linebacker Rafael Lozada posted his third straight game with double-digit stops, recording a season-high 13 tackles. Isaiah Onuschak and Tyler Tate also put up season highs with 10 and 8 tackles, respectively.
WCU -  West Chester improved to 2-1 after defeating Gannon 29-23 last week. A victory on Saturday would be the program’s 19th consecutive win over Millersville.
BORO -  Edinboro sits at 2-1 after grinding out a 23-20 win in overtime versus Bloomsburg.  A win over the  Vulcans this Saturday would break a 12-game losing streak.
CAL -  California (Pa.) dropped their second game of the year in a tough overtime loss to Shepherd 26-23. Even though in a loss, senior quarterback Noah Mitchell broke the all-time school record for passing yards, throwing for 282 yards and two touchdowns on the night. He eclipsed the three-decade old record of 8,690 yards midway through the second quarter.
SHEP -  Quarterback Tyson Bagent once again received PSAC honors being named the Eastern Division Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this year. Bagent 33-of-53 passes for 490 yards and three touchdowns. He remains the conference leader in passing yards, completions, and touchdowns.
KUTZ -  Kutztown won their second game of the season at Mercyhurst in Week 3 by double digits. Down 14 points early, the Golden Bears offense scored 33 unanswered points to put the game away.
GANN - Gannon dropped their first game of the year to West Chester 23-29 last weekend.  In a close head-to-head with Clarion, Gannon rests at a slight 6-7 disadvantage. A win would break a two-game losing streak and be the first victory over the Golden Eagles since 2018.
CLAR -  Clarion earned their first win in Week 3 with a blowout victory in Lock Haven.  Although the head-to-head is slightly in Clarion’s favor, the Golden Eagles are on a two-game skid to Gannon since 2019, both losses taking place on the road.
LHU -  LHU comes off a tough loss on homecoming against Clarion. The Bald Eagles dropped the contest at home, 44-7. This was after they closed out the first quarter with some confidence trailing, 13-7, but eventually were outscored, 31-0. Marquon Williams had a solid contest with three receptions for 82 yards and 1 touchdown.
ESU -  The Warriors got their first victory of the year last week with a 22-7 win over Seton Hill. A name the PSAC is familiar with is ESU kicker Devin Bartholomew who tallied 16 of the Warriors points. The lone ESU touchdown was recorded by John Siggins from quarterback Jake Cirillo.
SHIP -  The Raiders lost a tough one at home last week against PSAC west foe IUP, 44-21.  As for this week’s battle, Shippensburg is on the road at Bloomsburg in a PSAC east battle. Ship owns an all-time record of 48-37 dating back to 1917.
BLOOM - After a week 2 victory over Clarion, the Huskies fell just short of a win in week 3, falling in overtime to Edinboro, 23-20. It was the second overtime loss of the season for the Huskies in 2022. Brendan McGonigle kept the Huskies in the fight throughout the game drilling a pair of field goals including a 44-yarder in overtime to tie the game up again.
HURST -  Mercyhurst showed that their offense can still put up a solid amount of points, but still fell to Kutztown in its home opener, 50-31.  This week, the Lakers will travel to Indiana (Pa.) for a PSAC West matchup. They are 0-9 against the Crimson Hawks dating back to 2012.
IUP -  The Crimson Hawks are coming off a commanding 44-21 victory over Shippensburg on the road. IUP put up 552 yards of total offense including 213 on the ground and 339 in the air. SHU -  Seton Hill enters the game at 0-3 with losses at Wheeling and Shippensburg and at home against East Stroudsburg. SHU ranks last in DII in turnover margin at -3.33 turnovers per game with 11 interceptions thrown and two fumbles lost through three games.
SRU -  Slippery Rock limited Millersville to just 76 yards of total offense over the final 45 minutes and ran away with a 45-14 win on the road last week.
