QUICK HITS, WEEK 2
VILLE - Holding a three-game losing streak to Gannon, they hope to achieve their first win over the Golden Knights since 2010.
GANN - Chris Farnsworth’s defense earned the first Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week as he had a career-high 12 tackles, 9 being solo, as well as a forced fumble and pass break-up.
ROCK - Quarterback Noah Grover enters Week 2 after winning the Western Division’s first Offensive Athlete of the Week. Grover completed 20-28 passes for 276 yards and three touchdowns, while also rushing for 18 yards and a fourth touchdown.
WCU - Down two in the fourth quarter, kicker Sean Henry redeemed two previous missed kicks with a game-winning field goal.
BORO - Edinboro ground out a 10-7 victory over Franklin Pierce in an all-around performance to start their season.
SHEP - Preseason All-American Tyson Bagent put up the most passing yards in the league to make the Rams the highest scoring team of the PSAC in Week 1. Bagent completed 33-of-43 passes for 394 yards and five touchdowns to earn the conference’s Eastern Division Offensive Athlete of the Week award.
CAL - Cal put up 35 points in the season-opener against Fairmont St., and much of that was due to their rushing attack.
KU - You must go back all the way to 2007 to find the last time that Kutztown was shutout in a game. The Golden Bears were blanked by Assumption, 3-0, in their opening game. The last time KU was shutout was back in October of 2007 in a 21-0 loss to West Chester.
SHU - Seton Hill fell to Wheeling in week one, 25-11, in a game that featured three safeties. The game started with a first quarter score of 2-2.
SHIP - Shippensburg lost a tough first matchup of the season, 29-6, at West Virginia St. The Raiders gave up 327 yards of total offense in the contest and only tallied 174 yards of offense on their end.
CLAR - This will be the 14th all-time meeting between Clarion and Bloomsburg, with the Huskies owning a 9-4-1 advantage in the all-time series.
BU - The Huskies lost their first matchup of the year in an overtime thriller at home to Stonehill, 33-30. The Huskies had 228 yards of total offense including 180 yards on the ground.
HURST - Things got going very well for the Lakers in week one with a 45-28 victory over Alderson Broaddus. Mercyhurst has now won its last three season openers dating back to 2018.
LHU - Lock Haven will meet Mercyhurst for the eighth time since 2008 and is looking for its first win. LHU last met Mercyhurst in 2017 where the Lakers won 23-10.
IUP - They have several key contributors returning this year including 11/17 players who were all-conference in 2021 in WR Duane Brown, OL Darrell Davis, DL Tyrone Folwer Jr., Dylan Grubbs, DB Darius Bruce, WR Qashah Carter, DB Jaheim Howard, OL Collin Pietropola, OL John Robinson, TE Grant Smith and DL Vaughn Wallace.
ESU - One of the top rushing teams in the PSAC in 2021, the Warriors’ run game was shut down at Pace tallying just 54 yards and averaging 2.5 yards per carry.
