LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference is pleased to announce its 2022 Fall Top 10 Award recipients, chosen and voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
The PSAC Top 10 was initiated in the 1998-99 academic year, given to men and women who excel in both the classroom and in athletic competition.
The winners for the Fall semester are Marianne Abdalah (Slippery Rock), Kylie Anicic (Edinboro), Noel Brouse (California), Sergio Del Castillo (Gannon), Maggie Greenfield (Gannon), Noah Grover (Slippery Rock), Kiley Kergides (West Chester), Aaron Maynard (Millersville), Adam Stilley (Shepherd), and Nicole Varano (Bloomsburg).
Marianne Abdalah
School: Slippery Rock
Hometown: Wexford, Pa. / Vincentian
Sport: Cross Country
Major: Physician’s Assistant
Cumulative GPA: 3.96 (UDG) / 4.0 (GRD)
This year, Abdalah was named a 2022 CSC Academic All-American in addition to finishing third overall at the PSAC Championships and fifth overall at the NCAA Atlantic Regional Championships. In her two seasons at Slippery Rock, Abdalah is a two-time honoree for both the All-PSAC and All-Region First Team squads, as well as a two-time qualifier for the NCAA DII National Championships.
Kylie Anicic
School: Edinboro
Hometown: Mickleton, N.J. / Kingsway Regional
Sport: Cross Country
Major: Nursing
Cumulative GPA: 3.76
Anicic was the leader of the Edinboro team that won their fourth straight PSAC Championship. Anicic finished first at both the PSAC Championships and the NCAA Atlantic Region Championships to become the 2022 PSAC Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year. This year she also earned Second Team All-American following a 31
st overall finish at the NCAA Championships.
Noel Brouse
School: California (Pa.)

In 2022, Brouse was a CSC First Team Academic All-American for the second time as well as a semifinalist for the William V. Campbell Trophy. Over the years, Brouse is also a two-time D2ADA Academic Achievement Award winner and two-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete. On the field, Brouse started 11 games at left tackle and helped the Vulcans rank among the top five in the PSAC in scoring offense, total offense, and passing offense.
Sergio Del Castillo
School: Gannon
Hometown: Madrid, Spain
Sport: Men’s Soccer
Major: International Management / Sports Management & Marketing (Double)
Cumulative GPA: 3.59
Del Castillo is a CSC First Team Academic All-American and United Soccer Coaches Second Team Scholar All-American in 2022, while also being a D2CCA First Team All-American and the D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year. He started in all 20 games to amass 23 goals, 50 points, and five game-winning goals. His 23 goals led all of the Division II.
Maggie Greenfield
School: Gannon
Hometown: Woodstock, Ontario / Woodstock Collegiate Institute
Sport: Volleyball
Major: Pre-Physician Assistant / Biology
Cumulative GPA: 3.96
Greenfield was voted All-PSAC First Team and AVCA All-Atlantic Region First Team after a season that saw her assist Gannon to a third PSAC Volleyball title. Starting in 34 matches, she led all Golden Knights with 83 total blocks, 23 solo blocks, and a team-best .298 hitting percentage. Greenfield was also named to the 2022 CSC Academic All-District Team and is a four-time PSAC Scholar-Athlete.
Noah Grover
School: Slippery Rock
Hometown: Phoenix, Ariz. / Mountain Pointe
Sport: Football
Major: Industrial & Systems Engineering
Cumulative GPA: 3.82
In 2022, Grover was a CSC Academic All-American, a Don Hansen Football Gazette Honorable Mention All-American, and a nominee for the William V. Campbell Trophy. At the helm of the No. 2 passing offense in the conference, Grover led his team to the second round of the NCAA Playoffs following a co-championship win of the PSAC West. This season, Grover completed 64.0 percent of his passes for 3,122 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just nine interceptions to also receive All-PSAC West Second Team honors.
Kiley Kergides
School: West Chester
Hometown: Rydal, Pa. / Germantown Academy
Sport: Women’s Soccer
Major: Economics & Finance
Cumulative GPA: 3.93
Kergides led the Golden Rams in minutes en route to first PSAC Championship since 2012 and first NCAA National Championship in school history. From the backline, Kergides scored three goals, including game-winner in the Atlantic Region Final, and added three assists. In 2022, she was First Team All-PSAC East, D2CCA First Team All-American, USC First Team All-American, and CSC Third-Team Academic All-American.
Aaron Maynard
School: Millersville
Hometown: Chambersburg, Pa. / Chambersburg
Sport: Men’s Soccer
Major: Chemistry
Cumulative GPA: 3.92
This year, Maynard received honors for making D2CCA Third Team All-American, a D2CCA First Team All-American, and CSC Academic All-District, as well as being named the PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Year. Maynard was the top defensive performer for a unit that allowed the second fewest goals in the conference. As a defender, Maynard still ranked second on the team in scoring with four goals.
Adam Stilley
School: Shepherd
Hometown: Charles Town, W.Va. / Martinsburg
Sport: Football
Major: Health Promotion & Exercise Science (UDG) / MBA (GRD)
Cumulative GPA: 4.0 (UDG) / 4.0 (GRD)
Stilley achieved CSC Academic All-American First Team and All-PSAC East Second-Team in 2022, in addition to being recognized as this year’s PSAC Football Champion Scholar. With 15 starts at center, Stilley keyed an offensive line that helped Shepherd rank second nationally in total offense (489.3), second in first down offense (354), and seventh in passing offense (312.5).
Nicole Varano
School: Bloomsburg
Hometown: Mt. Carmel, Pa. / Mt. Carmel
Sport: Women’s Soccer
Major: Nursing (Master’s)
Cumulative GPA: 3.84 (UDG) / 4.0 (GRD)
At forward, Varano scored 10 goals (second-most in the PSAC) and three assists to account for 23 points in 2022. Of her 10 goals, six were game-winning—a number that tied for fifth in all of Division II. This year, Varano was a USC Scholar All-American and a member of their All-Region First Team for the second time. In her career, Varano is a two-time First Team All-PSAC forward, four-time PSAC Scholar Athlete, three-time D2ADA Scholar Athlete, and two-time CSC All-District honoree.
