LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Mike Kalinowski, the voice of Clarion University Golden Eagles football, has been selected as the 2023 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference George Heaslip Award Winner. He was presented with the award last Saturday afternoon prior to Clarion’s home game versus Mercyhurst University, with many of his former broadcast partners in attendance.
Kalinowski has been the play-by-play broadcaster of Clarion football for nearly 30 years. Other than a two to three year stretch in the 1990's, he has been the voice of the Golden Eagles since his days as an undergraduate at Clarion. He is always well-prepared to put on a professional broadcast and also makes an effort to cover the annual Clarion spring football game. Kalinowski displays great knowledge of area high school and collegiate athletics and frequently gives recognition to local athletes throughout the league – in addition to making sure listeners are in tune with other PSAC contests and storylines.
