QUICK HITS FOR PSAC TEAMS, WEEK 9:

SLIPPERY ROCK- 
Slippery Rock moved up one spot to No. 14 in the AFCA Division II national rankings this week. The Rock also moved up one place to No. 15 in the D2football.com media poll this week.

CLARION- Last week Clarion held a halftime lead against Seton Hill on the road, but the Griffins rallied in the second half to take a 31-16 win over the Golden Eagles at Offutt Field. 

SETON HILL- Ky’Ron Craggette was named PSAC West Football Athlete of the Week. Ky’Ron rushed for 181 yards and three touchdowns in the win.  He went over the 1,000 yard mark for the season in the victory.  Ky’Ron had TD rushes of 2, 4 and 14 yards.

EDINBORO- Edinboro has a 4-1 at home record against Seton Hill. The Scots have lost the last two games against Seton Hill. 

LOCK HAVEN- KJ Howard rushed for a touchdown on the first offensive play of the game, and T’iar Young, Corahn Alleyne, Chris Hicks and Nino Cinti all finished with TD-catches to fuel the offense.

WEST CHESTER- As an offense, West Chester racked up 357 yards of rushing on 43 attempts, which is tied for the ninth most rushing yards in a single game in program history.

IUP- IUP faces Gannon on Saturday, a team they have not defeated since 2021, 28-23, part of a six-game IUP winning streak against the Golden Knights that dated back to the 2015 season. IUP is 10-5 all-time against Gannon.

GANNON- Jayden Whitaker accounted for all four of Gannon’s touchdowns in Saturday’s 25-21 win at Edinboro. The redshirt freshman quarterback scored on runs of 9, 6 and 1 yards and threw the game-winning 7-yard touchdown pass.

BLOOMSBURG- Junior QB KJ Riley finished the day 16-for-22 for 278 yards and two touchdowns while taking two sacks and not throwing an interception.

SHEPHERD- The Rams are 3-2 all-time versus Bloomsburg, but fell to the Huskies 14-10 last season. Prior to that, Shepherd had won three consecutive matchups, dating back to 2019.

KUTZTOWN- Kutztown leads the PSAC and ranks fourth in the country in turnovers created and is seventh in turnover margin. 

MILLERSVILLE- Millersville has been much-improved on offense in recent weeks, scoring 21 or more points in four of the last five games and in three in a row. 

EAST STROUDSBURG-  The Warriors (7-1, 4-1 PSAC East) recorded their fourth consecutive win and remain in second place in the PSAC East after a comeback 38-35 victory over Lock Haven last Saturday.

SHIPPENSBURG- The Raiders out-rushed the Huskies 178 yards to 48 yards in last Saturday’s 20-10 road loss and totaled more first downs than the hosts (12-to-10).
