LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - Clarion's Sylvia Stibley earned the 2024 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s Women's Golf Champion Scholar Award, the conference office announced on Saturday at the 2024 PSAC Women's Golf Championship at Berkleigh Golf Club in Kutztown, Pa. This year's award is the third of Stibley's career, as she was also named Women's Golf Champion Scholar in the spring of 2023 and 2022.
Stibley, a senior from Broadville Heights, Ohio, has maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average through 158 undergraduate credits while pursuing a degree in secondary education - mathematics.
The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite 90 award and honor the student-athlete with the top grade point average who is competing at the site of each of the PSAC's finals sites. The selection criteria for the Champion Scholar Awards is identical to that of the NCAA Elite 90 awards, which honor the student-athlete with the top GPA at each of the championship finals sites of the 90 NCAA championships across all three divisions – I, II, and III.
