Slippery Rock's Bob Cupp selected as 2025 PSAC George Heaslip Award winner

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – Slippery Rock football broadcaster Bob Cupp has been selected as the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference George Heaslip Award Winner. He was presented with the award last Saturday afternoon prior to Slippery Rock's home game versus Clarion.
 
Cupp is in his 21st season as the broadcast voice for Slippery Rock football. Cupp, who is a full-time on-air talent The Rock Station, 97.7 FM in Butler, has called nearly every home and away football game for Slippery Rock since 2004 while balancing his role at the station. In an era where a majority of broadcasters have stopped traveling to cover away games, Cupp and his partner never miss a game, no matter where it is. He has driven to Michigan, Massachusetts, Kentucky, North Carolina, and other states, while making hundreds of trips across Pennsylvania to call SRU games. A 1986 graduate of Slippery Rock, Cupp was inducted into the SRU Media Hall of Fame in 2017. He has worked full-time with the Butler Radio Network for the last 40 years and has been delivering Slippery Rock news and information and covering SRU Athletics on his morning show on the largest radio station in Butler County for nearly four decades.

ABOUT THE GEORGE HEASLIP AWARD
The PSAC George Heaslip Award, which is chosen annually by the league's sports information directors, is named in honor of the late Cheyney University Sports Information Director George Heaslip. This award recognizes a media professional for his or her meritorious service while covering the conference's student-athletes, coaches and teams.
