LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its seventh week of Wrestling Athletes of the Week for the 2025-26 season, with Pitt-Johnstown's Trevon Gray and Gannon's Jerry Echevarria earning the honor.

Gray, ranked No. 1 in the nation at 125 lbs., posted a 5-0 record to win the championship at 125 at last weekend's prestigious Midwest Classic in Indianapolis. He recorded two major decisions, one technical fall, one fall, and a 7-2 decision victory over No. 2-ranked Shane Corrigan (Wisconsin-Parkside) in the championship bout. As a team, UPJ finished second in a field of 48 teams at the event.

Echevarria, ranked first in the nation at 133 by NWCA and 7th by The Open Mat, won the 133 lb. bracket at last weekend's Midwest Classic, winning all five of his matches. He secured a tech fall, a fall, and in the semifinals, met second-ranked Thaddeus Long of McKendree and came away with a narrow 3-2 win in a tiebreaker. Long, seeded third, took a 2-1 lead in the overtime period with an escape but with ten seconds left Echevarria provided the winning points with a reversal. In the finals, he came up with the winning takedown with four seconds remaining to wipe out a 4-3 deficit.
