PSAC Field Hockey Athletes of the Week - 2

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Field Hockey Athletes of the Week. Bloomsburg's Genna Bush was selected as Athlete of the Week while Shippensburg's Emma Albee earned the Defensive Athlete of the Week honor.

Bush posted an impressive five goals as the Huskies went 2-0 on the week. Bush netted a pair of goals in Bloomsburg's home opener on Wednesday afternoon, a 3-0 win over Pace. Against Mercy on Sunday, the Boiling Springs native recorded her first career hat trick in the Huskies' 10-1 victory over the Mavericks. Bush currently leads the the NCAA in both goals (9) and goals per game (1.80). In just five games this season, Bush has already matched her season-best in goals.

Shippensburg went 3-0 last week against nationally-ranked opponents, posting a double-overtime road win at No. 7 West Chester (3-2), a home victory over No. 5 Assumption (1-0), and a neutral-site victory over No. 2 and defending national champion Saint Anselm (4-0). Albee made 20 saves over the course of three matches while yielding just two goals in the second half to the Golden Rams. Her second and third shutouts of the season were the 17th and 18th of her career. She delivered a 10-save performance in the double-overtime win over WCU - her most saves in a single match in more than a year (dating back to the 2023 PSAC Championship game at ESU.) She made six saves in the shutout of Assumption and four saves in the shutout of Saint Anselm. Eight of those 10 saves were recorded in the second half to preserve the shutouts.
