QUICK HITS FOR PSAC TEAMS, WEEK 4:
CLARION: Clarion improved to 4-0 last week with 51-38 home win over Shepherd, marking their first 4-0 start to a season since winning seven straight games to open the 2015 campaign.
EDINBORO: Last week against Bloomsburg, the Scots struck when Amari Jones stepped in front of a KJ Riley pass and returned it 80 yards for a touchdown during the first quarter. Jones’s interception return for a touchdown was the first by a Fighting Scot since Toby Cline took one back against Slippery Rock on Nov. 2, 2022.
WEST CHESTER: Cooper Jordan accounted for all five West Chester touchdowns, throwing for three scores and rushing for two more to help the Golden Rams send their home-opener crowd home happy with a 34-16 victory over Seton Hill last Saturday.
MILLERSVILLE: Running back Isaiah Emmanuel scored his second and third rushing touchdowns of the season, giving him 18 in his career.
IUP: Quarterback Matthew Rueve set a school record with six touchdown passes, tying his career high — all without playing beyond the first series of the second half.
SETON HILL: Seton Hill boasts the eighth-best passing defense in the PSAC, allowing just 193.5 yards per game to opposing offenses through the air.
KUTZTOWN: Last Saturday marked the first time Kutztown has blocked multiple kicks in a game since 2016 against Cheyney. The last time the Golden Bears blocked three kicks in a game was Oct. 30, 1999 at Millersville (all punts.)
SHEPHERD: SU outgained Clarion 224-190 on the ground, with redshirt junior running back Jordan Barnett rushing 15 times for a game-high 212 yards, including a 96-yard TD run, which is the second-longest in program history behind Bryan Wright’s 97-yard run vs. Merrimack on Nov. 26, 2006.
EAST STROUDSBURG: After their performance last week against Gannon, redshirt senior quarterback Sean McTaggart and redshirt junior safety Everette Dingle have both been recognized as PSAC Athletes of the Week.
LOCK HAVEN: Ezequiel Johnson leads the team with 107 rushing yards on 18 carries, averaging 5.9 yards per carry.
BLOOMSBURG: Senior quarterback KJ Riley became the sixth player in Bloomsburg football history to eclipse 5,000 passing yards after the Huskies game agaisnt Edinboro.
SHIPPENSBURG: Riley Gunnels achieved a career high in passing for the second time this season, finishing 30-of-50 for 295 yards.
CALIFORNIA: The Vulcans scored a touchdown on five-consecutive drives in a 42-6 victory against Lock Haven on Saturday to close their three-game homestand to open the season.
SLIPPERY ROCK: The Rock took home two PSAC West Athlete of the Week awards this week with Kanye Thompson earning the defensive honor and Joe White earning the special teams award.
