PSAC Golf Athletes of the Week - 3

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Golf Athletes of the Week. For Men's Golf,  Pitt-Johnstown's Griffin Hansberry and West Chester's Paul-Arthur Roth were named Co-Athletes of the Week. For Women's Golf, West Chester's Hanna Lignell was recognized.

Hansberry, a true freshman, shot a 2-under over three rounds to win medalist honors and lead Pitt-Johnstown to its third team championship at +23, nine shots better than second-place California (PA) (+32) at Monday and Tuesday's California/Wheeling Hannastown Intercollegiate Invitational at Hannastown Golf Club in Greensburg, Pa. He shot an even-par 70 in the opening round, a 2-under (68) in round two, and even-par (70) in the final round to win by four strokes over Cal's Gavin Goodrich (+2) and by five strokes over IUP's John Olsen (+3) and Alex Swinnerton (+3).

Roth captured his first collegiate tournament title with a bogey-free round of 65 on Tuesday afternoon in the second round of the King University Invitational to climb from sixth at two-under after day one to first at -7 (68, 65; 133) on day two. In his second round on Tuesday, Roth carded birdies on the par-four first, par-four fifth, par-three eighth, and par-five ninth to turn at four-under before carding a final birdie on the par-five 14th as he climbed five spots to earn his first individual crown.

Lignell shot back-to-back even-par 71's on Monday and Tuesday to win the King University Invitational at the Country Club of Bristol on Tuesday afternoon. Lignell became the second Golden Ram to win a Tournament this season as West Chester has now won the team and individual title at all three Tournaments that the team has competed in this spring.
