PSAC honors 2025 Fall Top 10 award winners

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference is pleased to announce its 2025 Fall Top 10 award recipients, as nominated and voted on by the Sports Information and Athletic Communication professionals of the conference.
 
The PSAC Top 10 was initiated in the 1998-99 academic year and is awarded to those men and women student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and athletic competition.

The honorees for Fall 2025 are: Emma Albee (Shippensburg), Emily Bowers (Gannon), Jennifer Cichra (Slippery Rock), Anna Coulter (East Stroudsburg), Mike Formica (IUP), Michael Henwood (Slippery Rock), Judd Novak (Kutztown), Sverre Orten (Gannon), Garrett Quinan (Shippensburg), and Elle Smith (IUP).

Emma Albee
Shippensburg

Albee was the team captain for the Raider squad that won both the 2025 PSAC Championship and the 2025 NCAA National Championship. She ranked second in the nation (first in the PSAC) in save percentage (.829), third in the nation (second in the PSAC) in goals-against average (0.76), and led all of Division II with 12 shutouts and allowed one goal or less in 18 of the team’s 23 games.

Emily Bowers

Bowers became the first female runner in Gannon history to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championships, earning her spot with a runner-up finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional. She also made history at the conference level by becoming the first Gannon women’s runner to win an individual PSAC Championship, capturing the title with a winning time of 22:17.00.

Jennifer Cichra

Cichra earned PSAC Fall Top 10, First Team All-PSAC and All-Region honors for the second year in a row, finishing a career-best eighth at the PSAC Championships and taking 13th at the regional championships. She led SRU in three of the five races this fall and finished her cross country career having improved at the PSAC meet every year: from 78th in 2023 to 12th in 2024 and eighth in 2025.

Anna Coulter

In the conference in 2025, Coulter ranked second in kills (439), fourth in kills/set (3.63), second in attack percentage (.356), first in blocks (200), first in blocks/set (1.65), and recorded a league-best 600 points. Nationally, she ranked first in total blocks, second in blocks/set, 12th in points/set, and 25th in total kills across all of Division II.

Mike Formica

Men’s Cross Country
Major: Psychology
Cumulative GPA: 3.51

Formica was the individual PSAC Men’s Cross Country Champion and broke several course and school records this fall for the IUP Men’s Cross Country Team. He did not finish outside of the top five in any of his races. His best 8K time was 24:12.7, his top10K time was 30.25.7, and his best 3.73 mile time clocked in at 19.53.6.

Michael Henwood
Slippery Rock

Henwood was an All-PSAC safety for Slippery Rock and led the SRU defense in tackles for the second year in a row – finishing with team-high totals of 67 tackles, 42 solo tackles, two interceptions and one interception return for a touchdown. He was one of only four SRU defensive players to start every game this year and was a national semifinalist for the William Campbell Trophy.

Judd Novak
Kutztown

Novak quarterbacked Kutztown to program single-season records of 14 victories, 14 consecutive victories, and 645 points scored. He completed 215-of-328 passes for 3,070 yards, 31 touchdowns, and just one interception – setting the PSAC single-season record for most passes without an interception at 367. Novak Rushed for 547 yards (6.9 yards per carry) and seven TDs. He led the PSAC and ranked top 10 in DII in passing efficiency (174.8), passing TDs, and points responsible for (228).

Sverre Orten

Orten led all of Division II in goals with 17 and ranked top 10 nationally with 12 assists, finishing the season with 46 points. He was named the D2CCA Ron Lenz Player of the Year, the D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year, the PSAC West Athlete of the Year, and the CSC Academic Team Member of the Year for Men’s Soccer. In GU’s record book, he sits second in career assists with 46 and seventh in career points with 116.

Garrett Quinan
Shippensburg

Men’s Cross Country
Major: Mechanical Engineering

Quinan was voted the 2025 PSAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year and earned All-PSAC First Team honors after a second-place finish at the conference meet. He earned USTFCCCA All-Atlantic Region First Team honors with a third-place finish at the Atlantic Region meet and was just four spots shy of All-America honors at nationals after a 44th-place finish. SU's 17th-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II National Championships was its best performance in eight years and Quinan became just the second runner since 1990 to become a three-time PSAC Athlete of the Year (joining Lock Haven’s Alex Monroe [2011-13]).

Smith was voted the D2CCA Atlantic Region Player of the Year and the PSAC Western Division Athlete of the Year after ranking first in the conference in goals (20), game-winning goals (7), and points (47). She averaged 1.05 goals per game and 2.47 points per game in her junior season. She led all of Division II in goals, goals per game, (1.05), and points per game.
