LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Football Athletes of the Week for Week 2 of the 2026 season. In the Eastern Division, Shepherd Michael Hardyway is the Offensive Athlete of the Week while Shippensburg's Alex Sauve (Defensive Athlete of the Week) and West Chester's Bryan Anderson (Special Teams Athlete of the Week) were also selected. In the Western Division, Slippery Rock's JayJay Jordan is the Offensive Athlete of the Week along with Co-Defensive Athletes of the Week Elijah Halley (Slippery Rock) and Montrice Webster (Edinboro). IUP's Gavin Mentzer rounds out the weekly award winners as the West's Special Teams Athlete of the Week.

Hardyway completed 30-of-41 passes for 408 yards and five touchdowns to lead Shepherd to a 45-28 win over Gannon on Saturday. Hardyway established new career highs with his standout effort.

In a 24-14 win at West Virginia Wesleyan, Alex Sauve was the defensive standout for the Raiders and also made a pair of key special teams plays. He finished with a game-high and career-high 17 tackles that included 3.5 tackles-for-loss, including an eight-yard sack. He also forced two fumbles (both ended up being recovered by West Va. Wesleyan) and also recovered a fumble in the first quarter that was forced by safety Dave Hines Jr. - after Hines dislodged the ball one yard short of the Raider end zone, Sauve scooped up the loose ball and returned it 42 yards. On special teams, Sauve hustled down field and succesfully downed two punts inside the 5-yard line - one at the 1-yard line and another at the 3-yard line. The 15 tackles are three more than Sauve's previous single-game best. Also among his tackles was a stop on a 0-yard run and another that came on a fourth-down play that forced a turnover on downs.

Anderson recorded five tackles, including two on special teams, while also registering a 66-yard scoop and score on an IUP missed field goal attempt in the fourth quarter that tied the game and sent it into overtime. Anderson had two solo tackles and three assisted stops. Both of his solo tackles came on special teams.

Jordan ran for 228 yards and three touchdowns on the road against an East Stroudsburg team that was receiving votes in last week's national poll. He averaged a whopping 9.5 yards per carry and finished the night with 263 all-purpose yards in a 59-35 road win for SRU. The 228 rushing yards is by far the most by any PSAC athlete this season and is the fifth-most in a game by any Division II player this season.

Halley led the Slippery Rock defense in a road win over an East Stroudsburg team that was receiving votes in the national poll last week. He finished the night with five total tackles, including 3.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks and one forced fumble.

Webster was a disruptive force for the Scots making seven tackles, four solo, with three tackles for loss and a forced fumble in last weekend's 9-6 win over Bloomsburg. The Scots would use the fumble forced by Webster to put together the team's only touchdown drive of the game.

Mentzer has been adept at flipping the field for IUP, as he did so frequently in last Saturday's defensive battle with West Chester that the Crimson Hawks won 27-21 in overtime. Mentzer punted the ball seven times with an average net of 43.71 yards, including three that were downed inside the 20-yard line. He had a long punt of 66 yards, a career high. He also had three kickoffs for 179 yards.
