LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Football Athletes of the Week for Week 3 of the 2026 season. In the Eastern Division, Kutztown's Craig Miller is the Offensive Athlete of the Week along with the Bloomsburg pair of Ian Donohue (Defensive Athlete of the Week) and Eli Zimmerman (Special Teams Athlete of the Week) In the Western Division, Clarion's Jase Ferguson and Slippery Rock's DaOne Owens are the Co-Offensive Athletes of the Week while IUP's Devon Bertrand (Defensive Athlete of the Week) and Seton Hill's Demetri Whitehead (Special Teams Athlete of the Week) were also selected

Miller ran for a career-high 136 yards and two touchdowns as No. 3 Kutztown outlasted Shepherd, 28-18, in a highly anticipated matchup of PSAC East contenders last Saturday. With wind and rain from a coastal Nor'easter affecting passing and offensive outputs for both teams, Miller stepped up in a big way. The Bear, Del., native opened the scoring with a 46-yard TD run three plays into the second quarter. Shepherd cut the Golden Bears' lead to 21-12 with 3:33 remaining in the fourth, but KU recovered the Rams' onside kick attempt and Miller dashed 40 yards to the end zone on 3rd-and-4 to put the game away. Miller finished with 11 carries for 136 yards, his first career 100+ yard rushing game. The junior, who is in his second year of eligibility, also had a 62-yard TD run against Clarion back on Sept. 12.

Donohue produced a disruptive performance for a Bloomsburg defense that held Shippensburg to 30 rushing yards and 1 yard per carry in the Huskies’ 33-31 comeback victory. Donohue recorded six tackles, including three tackles for loss totaling 13 yards, two sacks totaling 12 yards, and a forced fumble. He accounted for two of Bloomsburg’s three sacks and nearly one-third of the Huskies’ 10 tackles for loss. His first sack forced a three-and-out on Shippensburg’s opening possession. Donohue added another sack and forced a fumble during the Raiders’ next series, helping limit Shippensburg to 22 yards on the possession before another punt. His pressure remained a factor throughout the game as Bloomsburg finished with three sacks and eight pass breakups while holding the Raiders to 305 total yards on 80 plays.

Zimmerman delivered a decisive special teams performance in Bloomsburg’s 33-31 comeback victory over Shippensburg, helping the Huskies erase a 21-point deficit and improve to 3-1 overall. With Bloomsburg leading for the first time following a fourth-quarter safety, Zimmerman fielded the ensuing free kick at the Huskies’ 24-yard line, broke through the coverage and raced 76 yards for a touchdown. The return completed a nine-point swing in just 12 seconds and gave Bloomsburg a 33-24 advantage with 5:05 remaining. Zimmerman finished with 110 return yards, averaging 49.5 yards on two kickoff returns while adding 11 yards on two punt returns. His 9-yard punt return late in the second quarter gave Bloomsburg possession at its 44-yard line and helped set up Peter Kashynski’s 37-yard field goal before halftime. In addition to his special teams contributions, Zimmerman rushed for 84 yards on nine carries and finished with a game-high 194 all-purpose yards. His 76-yard return was Bloomsburg’s first kickoff-return touchdown of the season and ultimately provided the winning points in the Huskies’ PSAC East-opening victory.

Ferguson led the Golden Eagles to an impressive 30-19 win over Edinboro at home on Saturday, displaying big play ability with his arm and his legs to beat the Fighting Scots. Ferguson completed 20 of 32 passes for 312 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, while also rushing for a game-high 75 yards and another touchdown. He started off the game with a 75-yard touchdown pass to Ja'Tawn Williams and later hit Davon Jones for a 47-yard score and Tsirell Curry for a 22-yard touchdown. His biggest play of the game came late in the fourth quarter while Clarion held a 24-19 lead -- when he ripped off a 50-yard run down to the Edinboro 2-yard line to not only milk the clock but set up a rushing touchdown for himself to seal the win. Ferguson is the second-leading passer in the PSAC with an average of 256.8 yards per game, and his average of 305.3 yards of total offense per game also ranks second.

Owens rallied Slippery Rock past California (Pa.) on the road Saturday after combining for four touchdowns in a 41-26 win. He ran for 116 yards and two TDs on just nine carries, becoming the first SRU QB to run for 100+ yards in a game since Roland Rivers III did it against Cal in 2019. In the passing game, Owens started out just 1-of-6 with two interceptions before going 13-of-19 with two TD the rest of the way to finish with 245 passing yards on top of his 116 rushing yards. The Rock trailed 13-0 in the second quarter before going on a 41-6 run to put the game away.

Bertrand recorded eight tackles, including six solo tackles and a forced fumble, in a 35-7 victory over Seton Hill that brought the Crimson Hawks' record to 4-0. He had one tackle for loss for a negative five yards. He also recorded one pass breakup. Overall, the IUP defense held Seton Hill to just 11 first downs, all in the second half, with the Griffins' only points coming on special teams.
