PSAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week - 2

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its second set of Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week for Week 2 of the 2026 season.In the East, East Stroudsburg's Steven Arias (Athlete) and Millersville's Gavin Massimi (Defensive) were selected. From the West, Pitt-Johnstown's Noah Pawling (Athlete of the Week) and Slippery Rock's Troy Nine (Defensive Athlete of the Week) received the honors.

Arias served as a primary force of ESU's attack, totally three goals as the only scorer on the team and leading them to a 1-1 record on the week. In the 2-0 victory against Jefferson, Arias played an efficient game, scoring two goals with his only two shots of the game. Against Queens, the Warriors' lone goal came from Arias out of the half and set up a chance for ESU to equalize the score.

Massimi recorded his third win of the season Saturday as he and the Marauders improved to 3-1 on the year. Over the past two games, Massimi has allowed just one goal while making three total saves across both contests. Through the opening four games of the season, he currently ranks third in the conference in goals-against average.

Pawling scored three goals in Pitt-Johnstown’s first two matches of the season. He scored one goal on three shots, including two shots on goal, in Thursday’s 4-2 season-opening win at Chestnut Hill. Pawling followed that performance with two goals, including one penalty kick goal, on five shots with two shots on goal in Sunday’s 5-2 home-opening loss to Georgian Court. Through the first two matches, Pawling has made an immediate impact offensively for Pitt-Johnstown.

Troy Nine, a junior goalkeeper from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, helped Slippery Rock to a 1-1-0 week overall after posting a .750 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average, while making six saves this week. Nine started the week with four saves in a 1-0 loss at Walsh and ended it with a two-save performance in a 4-1 win versus the District of Columbia.
