BLOOMSBURG WINS PSAC FIELD HOCKEY TITLE, THREE TEAMS QUALIFY FOR NCAA III PLAYOFF
 
Bloomsburg beat Slippery Rock, 3-1, to win the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference field hockey championship, and three PSAC teams – Bloomsburg, Slippery Rock and East Stroudsburg – will be playing this weekend in the opening round of the NCAA Division III national tournament.
 
Bloomsburg, ranked No. 1 nationally in Division III, opened the PSAC tournament with a 2-0 victory over Shippensburg, and Slippery Rock edged East Stroudsburg, 2-1 in overtime. East Stroudsburg came back to blank Shippensburg, 1-0, in the consolation game for third place before Bloomsburg took the championship.
 
In addition to the three PSAC teams in the NCAA tournament with weekend, Millersville will play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division II tournament, and Lock Haven will take part in the ECAC Division I championship.
