LOCK HAVEN, PA – Sean Flanagan scored a hat-trick and two assists to lead Lock Haven to it’s 15th Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Championship, defeating Bloomsburg 6-0 on Sunday.

Lock Haven, 14-3-2, struck for three first half goals within a 1:03 span.

Flanagan, who was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, assisted the first two LHU goals, both scored by Steve Slack. The first game was 14:56 into the game as Flanagan crossed the ball to Slack on the right side and Slack booted it back across and into the left corner of the net. Eighteen seconds later, the duo hooked up again, when Flanagan’s pass was headed by Slack past BU keeper Bryan Fleming and trickled in the net. Forty-four seconds after that, Flanagan was awarded a penalty shot when Bloomsburg’s Bob Dunn was whistled for a hand-ball in front of the net. Flanagan put the ball up the middle as Fleming dove to the left.

Flanagan’s second and third goals came in the 64th and 67th minutes. Both were unassisted. In the 87th minute, the Bald Eagles scored their final goal, put in by Slack, giving him a hat-trick as well. He was assisted by Danny Bacon. LHU goalkeeper Dave Hartlaub recorded his seventh shutout of the season.
