SLIPPERY ROCK WINS 1993 PSAC VOLLEYBALL TITLE

Millersville -- Slippery Rock University defeated Edinboro University in three games (15-8, 15-13, 15-10) to capture their first PSAC Volleyball title since 1984.
Slippery Rock (39-5) was lead by PSAC All-Tournament team members senior Renee Chesley (North East/North East), and juniors Laurie Flynn (Pittsburgh/Baldwin) and setter Bev Rea (Stoystown/North Star).
Chesley had eight kills in the championship game, Flynn had 14 kills and 14 digs, while Rea had 17 digs. Junior Blytha Rea (Stoystown/North Star) had 15 digs and three servic aces for the day.
Edinboro (14-15) had two players named to the PSAC All-Tournament team, Michelle Hubalek (Fairview Park, Ohio) and Michelle Ferguson (Paoria, IL).
In the consolation game, Millersville (17-9) defeated Shippensburg (14-16) in five games (15-17, 15-3, 15-7,11-15, 15-12).
Marauder juniors Jody Lindstrom (Stewartstown/Kennard-Dale) and setter Missy Kauhauser (York/Dallastown) were named to the all-tournament team. Lindstrom led Millersville with 25 kills and 24 digs, while teammate Kauhauser had 24 digs and five service aces, including an ace that won the match.
Shippensburg's Nicole Zanin (Chambersburg/Chambersburg) was also an all-tournament selection with 16 kills and two service aces for the day. Teammate Tina Creason (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) also led Shippensburg with 10 kills and 21 digs in the consolation game.
