(Millersville win 1st PSAC championship in six-year history)

MILLERSVILLE -- Tournament MVP Abby Hafer connected on 32 kills, hit. 433, and contributed 18 digs and seen blocks to lead Millersville (23-2) to its first Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's volleyball championship Saturday nights with a 3-1 victory over defending champion Edinboro (14-19). The games scores were 17-15, 13-15, 16-14, and 15-11.

Hafer, a 5-11 senior middle blocker from Abbottstown, Pa., committed only six attack errors in 60 attempts. The victors recieved strong support from freshman outside hitter Jaime Martzall, who tallied 23 kills and was superb defensively with 30 digs.

Setter Jena Ilus also posted 25 digs for Millersville, which extended its club-record consecutive win streak to 20. It was the Marauders' second victory over the Fighting Scots this season.

For Edinboro, senior hitter Michelle Habalek hit .419 (22 kills) and junior attacker Stephanie Radecki posted 20 spikes and a team-high 17 digs.

Millersville, ranked second in the Atlantic Region, will advance to its first NCAA Division II tournament berth next week. The formal bids will be issued Monday.
