MILLERSVILLE – Lock Haven University rallied from an 0-2 deficit and stormed back to win its second Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference volleyball championship, 3-2, over Edinboro University Saturday night at Brooks Hall Gymnasium.

The Lady Eagles (30-5) dropped the first two games to the Fighting Scots, 17-15 and 15-13, but dug themselves out by winning three straight games, 15-4, 15-6, and 15-10, to earn their first PSAC crown since 1996.

Lock Haven senior outside hitter Sarah Schall totaled 22 kills and 26 digs and was named the tournament’s outstanding player.

Junior middle blocker Kathryan Stallings excelled for Lock Haven with a .475 attack percentage (match-high 24 kills) and six blocks, while sophomore outside hitter Laurie Nuzum added 20 kills.

Edinboro (21-10), which had its quest for the PSAC “three-peat” ended, received fine efforts from its attack trio of middle blockers Mandie Moyer (.400, 18 kills) and Jennifer Fuhrman (.302, 22 kills) plus outside hitter Stephanie Burner (.419, 14 kills, nine digs).

Lock Haven is expected to receive a bid to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regionals.
