BLOOMSBURG— The Bloomsburg University lacrosse team defeated West Chester, 13-12 to win the PSAC Championship. It is the third PSAC championship in Bloomsburg history. Bloomsburg's other titles came in 1991 and 2000.
It was a close game with neither team holding more than a two-goal lead. The Huskies (13-1) fell behind early on, and went into halftime one goal down. In the second half, Bloomsburg and West Chester (10-7) traded goals until Georgia Carinci scored the go ahead goal with four minutes and eight seconds left in the game.
In the first half, the Golden Rams' Dulcie Royer scored the first goal 19 seconds in. The Huskies quickly battled back, scoring two goals in less than one minute, taking a 2-1 lead with three minutes gone in the half. West Chester then scored three straight goals, two by Royer, to take the lead back 4-2 at 11:58. Shelia Zilinskiand Georgia Carinci each scored a goal with four minutes left to go in the half to tie the game at six, but West Chester's Royer scored with one minute left to take a 7-6 lead into halftime.
In the second half, the teams traded goals until Julie Minoguescored two goals two minutes apart to give the Huskies their first lead of the second half at, 10-9. West Chester then scored two goals in six minutes to take the lead back with 10:25 left in the game. With nine minutes left, Bloomsburg scored three straight goals, two by Georgia Carinci to make the score 13-11. West Chester tried to come back, scoring one goal in the last minute, but was unable to get another past goalie Linda Schultz.
Carinci was named the game's MVP scoring five goals and one assist. Also scoring for the Huskies was Julie Minogue with four goals and one assist, Sheila Zilinski with two goals and one assist. Megan Pryalso contributed with five assists. In goal, Linda Schultz made 14 saves off of 26 shots.
West Chester was led by Dulcie Royer, who scored five goals and one assist. Also providing offense was Katelyn Martin with three goals and Kirstin McGoldrick with two goals and one assist. Goalie Jennifer Roman made 12 saves on 31 shots.

Game Notes: Bloomsburg captured its third PSAC title in school history beating West Chester 13-12. With the win the Huskies improve to 13-1 on the year extending its winning streak to 12 games. Georgia Carinci was named the MVP of the game. She had five goals and one assist to lead the Huskies. This was West Chester's first ever loss in a PSAC Championship game.
