CLARION WINS MEN’S AND WOMEN’S PSAC SWIMMING TITLES

EDINBORO, PA – The Clarion University men’s and women’s swimming teams both captured team championships at the 1996 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Swimming Championships.
The Clarion men won their 22nd PSAC title in the past 26 years, outscoring Shippensburg University, 446 to 345 in the three-day meet held at Edinboro University. West Chester University placed third with 265 points, while Edinboro was fourth (225) and Kutztown fifth (218).
The Clarion women, who have never lost a PSAC meet in the 21 years the championship has been contested, scored 460 points. Indiana University placed second with 367 points, followed by West Chester in third with 256, Bloomsburg in fourth with 254 and Shippensburg in fifth with 245.
