Bryan Kast joined the PSAC as Director of Strategic Communications in February of 2023. In July of 2024, he was named Assistant Commissioner for Strategic Communications.
Previously, he was the Assistant Director of Athletics Media Relations at Gannon University. At Gannon, Kast was responsible for representing the Golden Knights’ 23 athletic teams and his duties included promoting teams on social media, managing visual and digital media, and curating live broadcasts for all home athletic contests as well as multiple conference and regional tournaments.
Prior to his work at Gannon, he completed a graduate assistant position at fellow PSAC institution Millersville University. There, he served as the Director of Sports Livestreaming and was given responsibilities in all aspects of the Athletic Communication office. His duties included being the main point of contact for Millersville women’s and men’s soccer, wrestling, and baseball. In 2020, Kast also assisted Arcadia University's varsity e-sports team in the creation and maintenance of a streaming platform for its weekly matches in multiple games (including League of Legends, Rocket League, Hearthstone, and Overwatch.)
Before Millersville, Kast was the Sports Director and Nightside Manager at Blue Ridge News 11 from 2011-18. He served as the nightly sports anchor for the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts. Kast filmed, edited, fronted, and produced video highlights, features, and longer-form half-hour shows. He was responsible for the organization, scheduling, and day-to-day operations within the sports department. His live play-by-play announcing duties covered wrestling, lacrosse, soccer, and field hockey while at Blue Ridge until the station was shut down in May of 2018. Kast also worked at local Central Pennsylvania television station WGAL from 2008 to 2011, with another short six-month stint in 2019.
Kast received a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting, telecommunications, and mass media from Temple University in 2008. He proceeded to earn a master’s degree in sports management from Millersville University in 2021.
