LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced this week’s field hockey athletes of the week. Shippensburg University’s Agus Garibaldi was selected as Athlete of the Week, and Kutztown University’s Sarah Gatehouse was chosen as Defensive Athlete of the Week.

In a 2-1 Week for the Raiders, freshman Agus Garibaldi totaled five goals, one assist and 11 points. Garibaldi is ranked second in the league for the total number of goals (16) and shots on goal (55) and third in points. Against Millersville, Garibaldi was the only one that scored for the Raiders, with only two shots and one shot on goal. Against IUP, she had her second career hat trick by scoring three consecutive goals and assisting the sixth goal for fellow freshman Lilly Cantabene. Against Converse, she scored the game-winning goal and help hold Converse from a comeback, as the Valkyries reduced the deficit to one goal to make it 2-1. 30 seconds later Garibaldi then hits a rocket shot in the penalty corner to take a 3-1 lead.

Junior defender Sarah Gatehouse has been a rock for the Kutztown defense all season, and that continued last week. She helped lead Kutztown to two shutout wins, including a 1-0 victory over No. 1 East Stroudsburg and 3-0 win at Slippery Rock to close out the season. Kutztown has allowed just one goal in the last seven games. Kutztown's 10 shutouts and .78 goals allowed per game this season rank second in the NCAA.
