LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Field Hockey Athletes of the Week. East Stroudsburg's Emma Friend was selected as Athlete of the Week while Kutztown's Olivia Kirkpatrick was recognized as the Defensive Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.

Friend helped the Warriors clinch a first-round bye in the upcoming 2025 PSAC Championship with a dominant performance in ESU's 8-2 win on Saturday over Frostburg State. Friend stuffed the stat sheet with two goals and one assist for five points, and put all three of her shots on target. She got the scoring started in the third minute of the game, assisting on the opening goal, and responded to the Bobcats' pair of second-half goals with two of her own to keep the game out of reach.

Kirkpatrick came up big for the No. 1 Kutztown defense as her defensive save in the second half helped keep No. 2 Shippensburg off the scoreboard in a 2-0 win in the regular season finale last Saturday night. It was her first defensive save in Maroon and Gold and helped KU remain unbeaten on the season at 18-0.
