LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selected this week’s women’s tennis athletes of the week. From the West Division, IUP's Joanna Stralka was voted the Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week. In the East Division, East Stroudsburg's Elina Joronen was selected.

IUP's Joanna Stralka went a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles action this week. In No. 3 singles, she defeated Slippery Rock's Dari Sakhanova (5-7, 7-6, 7-2) and Seton Hill's Maria Pereda (6-2, 6-3.) In No. 2 doubles versus Slippery Rock, Stralka teamed with Natalie Kmoskova to win 6-3 and added a No. 1 doubles victory against Seton Hill--again pairing with Kmoskova--6-1.

Making her ESU debut last week, Elina Joronen went 2-0 in her No. 1 singles matches against Millersville and West Chester. She bested Millersville's Noelle Htwar (6-3, 7-5) and followed that performance up with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over West Chester's Davica Massaro.
