LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its first set of Women’s Soccer Athletes of the Week for the 2023 season. From the East, Kutztown’s Lexy Endres, and East Stroudsburg’s Emmy Clarkson were selected. In the West, Slippery Rock’s Morgan Sarver, and California’s Emily Ouimet earned the honor.

Emmy Clarkson did not allow a single goal during the opening 180 minutes of the season. Clarkson posted shutouts against Dominican N.Y. and Holy Family and made four total saves.

Ouimet finished with four saves on Thursday evening, as the Vulcans opened the year with a 2-1 victory against Lock Haven - the program's first season-opening win since 2019. She faced a total of seven shot attempts, including five in the second half, and held the Bald Eagles scoreless until the final 90-plus seconds of the game. Ouimet earned her 10th career win while starting the season-opening contest for the second time in her career.

Kutztown senior Lexy Endres scored all three goals for the Golden Bears this weekend as they went 1-0-1 against Mountain East foes Charleston (W.Va.) and Concord at the Gannon Invitational. In Thursday's 1-1 draw with Charleston, Endres opened the scoring in the fourth minute off a pass from Caroline McDonald. On Saturday, the Medford, N.J. native and Temple transfer netted a pair of second half goals to help KU overcome a 1-0 deficit and pick up a 2-1 victory.

Slippery Rock forward Morgan Sarver led The Rock to a 1-1-0 record last week with a 6-1 victory over Davis & Elkins and a narrow 1-0 road loss to Fairmont State. Over the two matches, Sarver tallied six points on one goal and four assists. Sarver totaled 17 shots, seven of which were on target. Additionally, Sarver tied the school record for most assists in a game with four against D&E on Thursday. She led the team in both shots and shots on goal in both matches — 11 against D&E and six against Fairmont State.
