PSAC Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 11

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week honorees. In the East, Shepherd's Joi Fairweather earned Athlete of the Week honors while Millersviller's Emma Ludwig was selected as Defensive Athlete of the Week. In the West, Slippery Rock's Aslyn Pry (Athlete) and IUP's Lauren Valentic (Defensive) selected.

Fairweather averaged 11.5 kills in a 2-0 week for the Rams. She added nine blocks (one solo) and six digs. Fairweather helped Shepherd complete conference play with a perfect 14-0 mark.

In her possibly final weekend of matches as a Marauder, Ludwig willed the Marauders to the playoffs with a team-high three total blocks and 22 digs in a 3-2 upset of Shippensburg on Nov. 15. She also added an ace and 52 assists on the offensive end. Ludwig finished the regular season with nine digs and a block assists against Shepherd.

Aslyn Pry closed her collegiate career on a high note last week in leading The Rock to a 1-1 record over the final weekend of the regular season with a victory over Edinboro and a four-set loss to PSAC West regular season champions Gannon. In two matches, Pry recorded 21 kills on a stellar .600 attack percentage in addition to serving one ace all the while supplying The Rock with nine blocks from her middle hitter position. Pry started the week with an 11-kill, six-block, one-ace showing in SRU’s victory over Edinboro before posting 10 kills and three blocks against Gannon.
